A friend told me about the site Associated Content and I was wondering if you guys know about this. It's a collection of articles that acts as Yahoo's repository or library. My friend hasn't joined yet but is planning to. I already joined the site but have no idea how to earn from it. They said you can earn an average of $30 to $40 a month. That's good money if you ask me. For some out there who knows how to operate there, can you share some tips? Your response will be much appreciated.

Associated Content is an excellent site for earning money if you know how to write well. You also have to learn the use of keywords and be aware of the types of articles that people are most likely to be looking for. Your profile says you're from the Phillipines, so you won't be able to get upfront payments for your articles. But many people who don't live in the United States still do well there, just from page views. Once you have a lot of good articles up, they can provide a fairly steady income for you. The more articles, the more income.

So I don't have to worry about the quality of the article? How many article have you posted there already?

Okay. Where do you write fictional stories? I'd like to try that..

Once you've written a few articles that pass inspection, you can post immediately, without having to wait for them to be accepted, but that doesn't mean you should post junk. Quality does count. Associated Content has a better reputation than places like Bukisa or Triond and it's because it sets at least some basic standards. And since you'll be making money only from page views, your articles have to be well-written and provide useful information. Otherwise, there's no reason for people to read them.
I write mostly fiction now, so I don't write for AC very often. But I have two dozen articles up right now. Some of them are doing very well.

I've had a lot of luck publishing articles on Associated Content. I have been focusing on creative ways parents may save money on baby-related purchases, with a few reviews of local businesses and a couple of assignment desk requests thrown in for good measure. Most of my articles are accepted for upfront payments, but I have had a few that were rejected for whatever reason. I post the ones that are rejected as display-only so I can earn from the page views.
The trick to doing well is writing for topics that are interesting to readers and uploading new content as often as you can. I get more page views for a lot of my articles whenever I upload a new one. If I write an article that's similar to another I've already published on Associated Content, I add a link to it from the new article. Curious readers will follow that link a lot of the time, getting more page views for the older article. I only started off in mid-January and I've already made about $80 from upfront payments and $10 from page views.
I think you might find it a bit harder to earn with Associated Content than I do, since they only offer upfront payments to writers from the U.S.

So it seems. How much is the difference earning per view compared to earning up front?

Well, they only pay $1.50 for every 1,000 page views when you start. It's taken a lot of promotion work and cross-referencing for me to get as many as I have in such a short time. Thankfully I have a lot of friends on Facebook who've been willing to help me out by viewing my articles when I post about them.
By comparison, I've averaged around $3-$4 per article when I submit for upfront payments.

Write about the latest keywords that are hot, there are dozens at twitter.com/hotsearches and at aol's hot searches. There are a number of keywords on record that you can use. Yahoo contributer network shows up in the search engines rather quickly so if you can get a few sneak peeks.

Keywords, meaning search engine optimization tags? How will I know if it's a hot topic?
