Are you your self or do you try to be like everybody else?

Most of people try to be like everybody or even worse, try to be someone else they are not. Do you try to keep up with your original self? I try. Even the clothes, I never wear brand, cut my hair or get a tatoo because people are doing. But specially on my actions and my way to think, I try to be not original but be me. If one try to be too original might also get to act like someone one is not.

I have discovered a long time ago that living with masks on only makes you unhappy and you can´t even find real friends because you don´t show what you are either. So I am what I am, even here, online, my abatar is myself and I write what I think. No lies. I don´t bother to dress the way other people do but what I like. Sometimes I am too colorful for my age in Summer because I love the sun and it´s my way of talking to the beauty of Nature. Some people think I´m crazy, some think I should change, but some others like me as I am and they are really friends in need.

Many years ago, in my moments of greatest sorrow, when my 7 year old grandson was dying of cancer, I came home from seeing him and immediatly went to bed. Some minutes later my best friend called me and told me whether I was still dressed as she and her husband wanted to kidnap me and take me to a restaurant. I said yes, remembering that a few months earlier, when my husband passed away, I had promised him I´d take care of myself. I went then, I did not hide inside the closet as I wanted. And I have been trying to do that all these years, even now, on chemo, but thinking about nice scarves to sew for my bald head. I will not give up on life. I think that quality of life has a lot to do with being just as you are.
Have a lovely day!

Although I am circled around many influential people, I find that I am true to me. I like my own style and way of being. I can take suggestions but somehow always find it to be myself at all times.

Exactly stowyk it does not matter who is around us as it is us who have to live with our actions.

I think a few years ago, i use to try to like everyone.Since i have got older, i have noticed everybody in a different light, i see all their faults rather than the good things.Perhaps it is just me being picky about who i want to be friends with and who i want in my life and the people that i do not want anything to do with.

Yeah I try that too.But sometimes I just can't say no to some people like my family and friends.I bend my likes and dislikes for them sometimes but I try my best to be true to myself.I go in my room and do what I feel like doing.Trying not to care what other people think because people are going to gossip whether your perfect or not.

Oh yes, the gossip. There's an intersting saying of Jesus Christ in how we can see in others but never what we are, something like that and He was the wisest.
When I'm feeling like judging someone or I already begun it, if I realize it I stop and ask my self: "And who the f... you think you are?" And I can stop right there. Because I'm nobody to talk about someone else! hahahaha
No one is perfect.
