We come across many successful people in life. When we analyse their sucess it can be noticed that some of them are very knowledgable and some are very skilful. There are instancess of success for both of them. But stangely one may not be very intelligent but by his skills he becomes very successful.Similarly there are many intelligent people who are failures because of tactlessness and lack of skills. So I feel skill is more essential than knowledge to succeed in life.Pleae share your views..

"MY STRENGTH IS MY FAILURE", yes my dear friend, to get success i am doubling my failure rate, then i get the full length reason with a real life experience. Knowledge is not worked always. Our strong will, restless spirit are playing main role in achieving a goal. I have many sleep less nights in my life. Personal development of an individual is brings a good position to his words in the society(in his circle), this is what i storngly believe in...

I am not the most brilliant student in class and nor am I full of skills but the thing that makes me different is i'm confident and if i think i can do something, i'll end up doing it. I guess my confidence is my strength.

When you deeply think you can know that self confidence is only a mental strength like robust built of the body is physical strength. When it comes to success it is either knowledge or skill that counts. In some fields with knowledge one can shine but in other fields involving routine work one can shine with skill..

Yeah that's true but if someone has the skills but has no confidence to show it, it's useless. So for me, confidence is counted as strength too.

Interesting. I would say they are both important to have but if I didn't have the skills to distribute my knowledge then, my knowledge would go to waste.

Yes I agree that both knowledge and skill is necessary. But in some professions like teaching legal an medical it is knowledge that is more important. In routine work which most people do it is skill that counts rather than knowledge...

I am a bit confused here. I always thought that skill is knowledge in practice. Knowledge without skill to do work is useless. And of course there can be no skill without knowledge. I think both are equally important and have been trying to get that balance.

You are right when you say that both are necessary. When we deeply analyse we can find the difference. For instance for routine work skill is important than knowledge and what is use of knowledge in routine work which many people do now a days.Skill adds to knowledge in several fields. Both are necessary in one way..

Hi i differ friend, knowledge is more important than skill, but skill is certainly required; applying skill one may appear to become sucessful, but it will be short lasting, failure in the longrun is sure.. Thanks for sharing Cheers. BE HAPPY ALWAYS. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .

For a professor like you knowledge is important in your field. What is use of knowdge of advanced physices for a poor meachanic who earns his livelyhood in doing routine work.He requires skill in handling the machinery to be more successful. No doubt one is poorer without knowledge. On the whole both knowledge and skills are necessary for success many times and not always....

Knowdge can be acquired but skills have to be developed. Both are necessry but in fields where it is only routine work skill plays more important role than in knowledge. But in some professions like legal teaching and medical it is knowldege that is vital. All the best..

I am not a master of anything but I was taught common sense by by parents so I have learnt to pick up on maybe areas but not expertise in anything really...so I guess I would be closest to knowledge.

Yes common sense is very importsnt not only to be successful in life but also to lead a happy life.So you feel that knowledge that is common sense is preferable to skills in life.Very good..

I beg to differ. Knowledge is as essential as skill. Take for example the construction workers. They have skill in building a structure but they are paid poorly. Does that mean success to you. There are cases, however, when a construction worker advances to become a foreman because he had gained enough knowledge on how to operate the whole construction team. That is knowledge and it made the mere construction worker into a foreman. A little more effort and he may have a chance being a contractor.

So you feel that knowledge and skills are both necessry for successful life.Very good.Aas in the case of the example in your response unless the worker has both knowledge and skill he cannot progress and show good results. In my experience I have come across people who manage with skills the knowlege part is taken taken care of by the superiors.OK.all the best..
