E-books!!!

So I wanted to publish an e-book and started reading a whole lot. I found out that some people make over 6 figures all from online writing, publishing, advertising. They never have to touch a piece of paper.
With one year of focus and determination, you can become financially secure. I think that is enough for me to get my creative idea's in order to start as soon as possible.
After years of research on ways to make money online and as much blogging as I do now, I think this is something that I will like to delve into.
Has anyone here actually gone through the process of writing their own e-book? What are some of the down falls, or twists of the trade that a green leaf should look for?

Sorry to break into your dream, but very very few people make fabulous amounts of money with ebooks. It's work, just like any other work. You have to be able to write in a way that people will want to pay for. You have to promote your work, because there's no publisher to do it for you. Maybe you'll make it into the bigtime, but the chances are that you won't. And the chances are very good, that if you look at it as a get-rich-quick kind of thing, you may wind up being the victim of people who make *their* money by promising to show you how to do it.

I never once considered making 6 figures but making anything would be enough to drive me to write more. Along the way learning more.
Oh, and just wondering are you speaking from experience?

It sounded as if you were planning to get rich. Glad to see you have more sense than that. No, I'm not speaking from experience, but it's a subject that I read about regularly because I'm planning to publish my novels as ebooks. I've been following the development of ebooks for a long time because I wanted to know what I was getting into. I'll probably be publishing my first book in March or April.
I agree that any amount of success is a good motive to keep working at it. And always learning.

I am interested in what kind of novels you write. I have always aspired to writing but never knew at all, what kind of issues the market would bring.
Actually, I never thought about publishing before, my only concern was writing.
I would like to pick your brain for an hour... lol or maybe even longer.
