Hey all
Just to fill u in, i am a student, and a new driver. So i am looking for a car that is cheap to run, buy, repair, is economical, and reliable. But it also has to be in a low insurance group. I was thinking along the lines of a toyota aygo, or IQ, maybe an old VW polo, but the problem with these cars is, is that they dont depreciate a lot. So it would cost me a lot (around £3k) to get one used that doesn't have some ridiculous milage.
I came across a car called the proton savvy. And they depreciate very heavily, bad news for new buys, but good news for second hand buyers like me. But, are these cars reliable? I haven't heard a lot about them, just that they are essentially old mitsubishis, with outdated ride, comfort, handling, interior and engine. BUT, thats not really the point for me, so long as it doesnt break down, gets over, say, 50ish mpg (and i tend to dawdle around in 5th at 30mph to truely get the best milage for my petrol).
So to repeat. I dont care if they look hideous, cant accellerate, or bits of trim fall off. So long as it passes its MOT reliabillity, then thats all i am really worried about.
Please help
