me as a mac user I still go for mac though it is really not for newbie in terms of computer but if your skilled enough then mac would be VERY useful for you.. and Mac actually almost has everything that i need.. and the fact that you can even install a microsoft/windows os on your mac devices using bootcamp which is a great advantage for mac users... and yah it is really much expensive than microsoft base computers but the price is actually worth it.. but if you are more concern on the basics and GAMES well microsoft is better for you..

it actually depends upon your doing from everyday. if you are in gaming i prefer you should use windows other than mac OS for the reason most of the games that are made are for windows although some games supported Mac OS also, but windows is still the priority of all games corporation because of the denomination of its users. in terms of security i insist you should use Mac. Hope my comment helps in your decision making happy hunting !!

Processing speed and graphics cards both depend on what model you choose. If you choose a low-end Mac, then obviously it's going to be slower than a Microsoft machine, but it will also be slower than the rest of the Mac line. Almost any computer can be upgraded. If you don't like the graphics card, replace it or buy a computer that's more fully loaded. I don't game or do do graphics, so I can't make comparisons. But I've been using Macs for years, and I've been perfectly happy with them.
For me, I consider Macs better because I like the interface and because Macs are less likely to get viruses.

May be microsoft has a better graphics card but the advantages of Mac far out weigh PC. For a start the mac operating system is far simpler to use, I have a PC with similar programes and they are so complex to navigate around eg. windows media player. Mac I tunes is so logical and straight forward.
My PC always have issues, "cant complete this task, "system will not allow this" etc. as macs just dose what is asked with such ease. I have had 2 macs over 12 years and have not had one issue with them, bet no one could say that about their PC!. also with no risk of bugs or virus's because of its stable system I dont have to worry about updating anti virus software and the worry of my system crashing. Once you have a mac you would not want to go back to PC.

It is a difficult choice, whilst it is true to say that microsoft have had the market share for a long time that is now changing. I briefly used macs for work wen testing web aplications a few years ago, I found their graphical interpretation of web pages much nicer that the same for microsoft, and that was acros several browsers, however I found the MACmuch less intuitive, which I'm sure is just down to my unfamilliarity with that operating system, mixed with a less than userfriendly setup because we were trying to test somany things on so few machine. I couldn;t comment on the gaming capabilities, never tried it.
