How does technology disadvantages students nowadays?

I have an STS (Science and technology and society) class. we came across to the topic of the disadvantage of technology to the students.
there are many points that have been raised and one of it is that technology makes the students more reliant on computers that they sometimes indulge to plagiarism. they may have low vocabulary for there is right click+synonym in MS word and they just copy paste some information in the internet.
Moreover, it makes the student have low self esteem and became isolated because they are not anymore socializing with other people personally and they are more on social networking sites.
Another is the emergence of jealousy and insecurities and competition of gadgets. since here in the Philippines, students are becoming more materialistic due to the evolution of cellphones and they wanted to buy the latest most of the time because their classmates have one. it also gives way to social discrimination and stratification of the status of the students such that those who have cool gadgets, have cars are known to be rich and those who have limited gadgets or a retired gadget is considered lower.
What do you think about this guys?

Hello,
Today technology is all around us and we cannot stop the flow of evolution. Computers, i pods, phones even this website relies on technology. So why not make life easier for students if we are making our lives just as easy

it is because despite of easy lifestyle such that everything is being given to you, people are becoming unmotivated of doing innovative things. moreover, technology maybe helpful in everyday but the use of it should be limited since it is hazardous to our health..

Hi dear,
They are so lazy. Whatever they needed is around them and they are not at all ready to hard work or strive to get something. Also, in many cases, they are inter dependent and lack of organizing power to mitigate various things. They just know the surrounding and imaginary power also getting deteriorated.
In certain areas they are proved they are excellent and outstanding as they are cooperated by others. Whatever you mentioned are the few basic other reasons for their laziness. Also, the overloaded study mechanism and lack of time for their own work also is a reason. Again, as compared to 7-10 years the surrounding has tremendously changed.
The best way out is that we should make them bothered of what they are supposed to do. I have 2 children with age of 14 and 12. I have done all the basic kind of things for them and a systematic teaching, learning, awareness methods, knowledge sharing, improvement of ability etc. are providing to them with its respective areas as and when required.
If we provide them with moderate things and make AWARE of the matter, they will easily understand. They will not spend money unnecessarily, won’t involve with bad friendship, spend more time with studies, play sufficiently, spend time with family, entertain adequately etc. are given and as a result, I should say the children are matured enough with their knowledge and compatible with their age.
We should make them understand and guide them properly. As long as we cannot do it, I think whatever you said is 100% correct.

Actually each and every thing you can see has advantages and disadvantages both.Just name it! I'd say Science and Technology is a gift for the human race.Well I really think that it all depends upon the person who use the computer or any other electronic gadgets.Computer and Technology has made your life easier doesn't mean now you have to do nothing but chatting on the social networking sites.
