Of course i would admit that i am a sinner. Are there times that you feel ashamed to ask God for favors as you feel that God hears you less because of your sinful state?

Greetings,
You have an interesting topic about "Ashamed to ask for Favors". Though I hope I can share with you some encouraging words regarding your discussion.
I first would like to start off and say for myself I'm a sinner saved by grace. And it's this grace that makes me proud to be a child of God. So since I'm covered by the blood of the lamb I can rejoice and know that I am no longer in a sinful state as I once was. Now that doesn't mean that I will not sin in the future. But Whenever I do all I need to do is humbly with a sorrowful spirit come to His throne of grace and repent and ask for forgiveness and turn away and sin no more. So as much of the love of God is in me and His Son and the Holy Spirit I choose not to sin. Because I'm still His child and so therefore I have nothing to be ashamed of except for the sin I have committed. But knowing my father has welcomed me back into His open arms to asure me He has forgiven me then peace and joy is what I feel. I hope this helps.
Now, about feeling ashamed to ask God for favors, I'm not sure exactly what you really mean because God gives His children favors because he loves us so so much. He also hears every prayer His children say.
Now, I'm not certain, but this thought or question comes to mind and maybe this is what you are saying, correct me if I'm wrong. Is your discussion referring only to people who are sinners but maybe they believe in God and prayers and don't feel God will hear them, or something like this? As I said, please correct me if I'm wrong.
What I have heard and somewheres in God's word it talks about certain prayers. I'll have to find where it's at but I heard a message regarding sinners and prayers. If my my memory serves me correctly, the prayer of repentance is the only prayer which God will answer from a sinner. Way I look at this from God's perpective is that when God knows you are His child there is no need to feel ashamed to ask God whatever is on your heart. He is that awesome.
Now, when one knows they are a sinner and they have not repented, then I can understand why the sinner would feel like he does towards God.But this doesn't have to be this way. God wants everyone to be His child and feel loved so much that they know for a fact they have no reason to feel ashamed when they ask their father for something.
I believe this makes sense. When one knows they are in a sinful state but does not want to come to God for repentance but instead the sinner is asking God for favors I can truly see why the sinner would think God is not granting ones prayer request for favors. So knowing God does indeed answer sincere repenting prayers from sinners then one is no longer in a sinful state because God sees the blood of Christ applied to that life and that life is now a child of God, a sinner saved by grace by faith, which I need to add.
I don't mean to be too long on your discussion. I hope that I said something that would be of some clarity. But I did say I would look those passages up so I'm not saying anything that is totally out of line. So if you would like to know this where these passages are I be more that happy to share them with you when you are ready.
Have a wonderful evening.
God bless you.

Yes i am a sinner too and yes i do feel ashamed to pray to God sometimes to ask for favor not because He might ignore me because of my sins but I feel ashamed to face him as a sinner. I think that He would still give me what's good for me but I just feel that i don't deserve it so i don't ask for it sometimes.

When we are in trouble we remember God, when we are okay, we just ignore God and worship. So when we need God's help in times of trouble, we remember our lapses and feel guilty and ashamed to ask for guidance to work ourselves out of the mess we are in. Consistent gratitude to God and following principles laid down in religion, as socially acceptable in these modern days, helps.
God is benevolence personified. God does not hate or hold grudges. Our conscience punishes us. This is taught to us by religion, any religion.

Hi Grace!
I know that God hears us and know what's in our hearts even before we ask Him. I have confidence in Him and I believe He is always there to hear us.
What I'm actually ashamed of is always asking forgiveness of my sins and then do it again. Sometimes I think that we are already abusing His mercy and love and compassion and grace for us.
I know that He is always willing to forgive us and accept us but we shouldn't abuse. It's always our alibi that we are only humans. And I'm still praying always that this will change.
