I was waiting on a USB wireless adapter for my laptop and just checked the tracking info today. It says it was delivered at 2:30pm yesterday, but no one in my house has seen this package. The screen door was locked so they probably just left it in front of the door and somebody walking by probably saw it and took it. This really sucks. I think I'm going to have to order another one and am out 20 bucks. Next time I'll have packages delivered to my mail stop code on campus. I just hope the prescription drugs I ordered through the mail come in okay. Too bad I don't have tracking for those as well. Has something like this happened to you?

I have never had this happen, but today i was supossed to get a new Iphone delivered and it never came or then again ike you stated your package was stolen off your front porch. I hope this didnt happen to me today but i never received a tracking number from this and wish i would have because im getting kind of nervous about were it was.
I have had my house robbed and didnt have much left after that and i am terrified to do alot of things in life now. Its the worst feeling you could ever have.

I'm very sorry to hear you got robbed. I don't know how you feel safe after that. My sister got mugged this past December and had to move out of her apartment. She no longer felt safe in Brooklyn. I hope you get your Iphone. Apparently, my package was delivered to my next door neighbor and he called me this afternoon leaving a message saying that he had it a couple days and was leaving it on our front porch. I think he works for my school Caltech because he called from an Institute Directory phone. Maybe the same thing happened to you.

If you can do so, make a request upon shipping that the package has to be signed for.
Up here, if that's the case and our local mail service can't do this, they leave a card saying that the package is at the post office and that the recipient has to go and sign for it. They have to provide ID to prove that they are the rightful owner of the package or it wont be released to them.
It should be this way for all packages and letters that are important.
I had a similar situation, except that I was ripped off by a seller, I paid for something and they never sent it out. I fought for a long time with Paypal to try to get a refund, kept sending invoices to the seller demanding my money back, but to no avail.
I'd be very careful with packages you have mailed to you, a P.O box is sometimes safer for things like this.

I also got ripped off by a seller on eBay. I bought a dress and never received it. I was kind of lazy and didn't do anything about it. I should have given her a bad review while I had the chance (by the time I got around to it I couldn't leave a review anymore) because I could have saved the next person from getting scammed by that seller. Anyway, Amazon delivered the package to my neighbor a couple days ago and he only now just called me and left it at our door. So I do not have to reorder thankfully. Thanks for the response.

Hi. pokumon. I am sorry about this that has happened to you. You may should consider getting an P.O. Box. Your mail is very secure here. Chances are someone could have stolen it. I know that this person will never return it either. People can be so cruel in this world. They would rather take something that does not belong to them, then to go out and work hard to get what they need instead.

It has to take some nerve to steal a package from someone else. how can you even know what is in the package? The delivery could be something vital to the recipient. How can such an action not weigh on your conscience?

That did happen to me once when I lived in a building and I was so upset thinking about my own neighbors taking the package. As according to the delivery it was delivered and the next door neighbor stated he left it right next to my door.
Since no one could get in without a key it had to be a neighbor, well without proof I had to repurchase the item, and as you I made sure it went to my work at the time, but what a shame that there is such dishonesty.

I've never had anything like that happen to me. Usually, our shipment driver will "hide" packages that he has to leave, either behind something or around the side of the house. Do you have any recourse for the shipper to prove the item was indeed delivered?

I live in an apartment building where the the inner door is locked, so packages are left in the entryway by the mail boxes. Most of the time I never have any problems, but for a while I lost a lot of packages because someone was stealing them. Tenants come and go and there are a lot of apartments, so there was no way to identify the thief. I finally notified the post office and they agree to have the postman ring my bell whenever he had a package for me. I requested replacement for a few of them and got them okay. But I lost several package from Amazon, and it got to the point where I thought they'd suspect me of scamming them. So I took some financial loss. I guess the tenant finally moved out because a new postman left the packages in the entry and I never had any more problems. Fingers crossed. At least UPS and Fedex will come up to my apartment.
