Well, I'm one of those crazy people who read novels for fun. Two paragraphs is a tiny, short little thing.
Most of the time, I see "discussions" that are two sentences long and skip it, because there can't be much of merit in two sentences, unless it is a simple question that I can quickly answer.

Well that's true. Some people will tell you their whole life story, and really the point they were trying to make is that they found a $20 bill on the street this morning. And you're sitting there thinking "but what did you sister in law's pimple have to do with that?" LOL

I don't have any issue with reading long discussions if the subject matter interests me. It's hard to have a good conversation without much information to go on. Sometimes, people make such short statements, too, that I find that I have nothing to say in return. There have also been some posts that have been so long that I've completely lost the sense of what the writer really wants to discuss... but mostly, yes, I do read all the way through :))

Well, I only select discussion topics where I feel I can answer to. I don't mind reading, especially if it's something important. I, myself, have posted some topics containing more then one paragraph. The recent 'rant' I posted up was about 3 looong paragraphs and some people read it because of the content and I did get some good feedback.
I sometimes just scan through, reading really well in the places where I think are important.

Discussions have to hit all my criteria, believe it or not. it has to spark my interest to read on, it has to hold my interest in the details, then it has to actually have a subject and be understandable and have a reason to put in my two cents.
Second paragraph, have fun myloting and welcome to the family!

If it's an interesting subject but a bit too long , i will read the first paragraph and if i'm still interested, i will go on and read the rest.if not, i will simply pass it by.Although there are times when i see a discussion that is much too long, i won't even bother reading it, since some of these tend to go on and on without getting to the point and without even asking a question or asking for some advice. All and all i'm not attracted to long discussions, since the time it takes to read them sometimes are just not worth it.

It all depends on the topic, If I decide to read the enter two paragraphs then I usually am interested in what it is talking about. Of course you can also tell whether or not you will be interested just by looking at the first sentence haha. So I guess it's one of those things where you determine whether or not you do it based on the circumstances.

I like the discussions that are a little longer to read. For instance with this one yours is very short and I can only come up with a comment about a tiny part of it. With the longer discussions there is more for me to read and therefore more for me to comment about to keep the discussion going. Both type of discussions are completely fine I just prefer the longer ones :)

Hi
Yeah, even i will probably ignore a discussion if it is too long. I think short, concise and to-the-point discussion are more catchy. I think one should restrict the discussions to maximum of four to five lines. Yes, if you want some information and you have asked a question, then a long answer, providing plenty of details is surel welcome and you can get lot of knowledge.

Hi. treedezy. I try to take the time to read the discussion. If I was to make a discussion too, I would want someone to take the time to read mines. I try to get myself in the mood to read longer paragraphs, if I just don't have the time to, I will bookmark the discussion and read it later on.

If it really looks interesting to me, then I will read it. Usually, it is the topic that gets me to reading the discussion to start with. I am glad that I do take the time to read discussions like that, as I can give good feedback. Now, if I start reading a discussion, and it isn't all that interesting, then I will stop reading and not respond to it. there have been a few discussions that I have done that to, but generally, I will take the time to read them, and then I will respond. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I am more than happy to read a lengthy discussion. i might not always remember the high points and have to go back and read again. i think that when discussions are shorter, the points are more easily seen.

Me too. One time, I was like "Whoa! Two paragraphs? No way, man!" and sometimes I be like "Whoa! Two paragraphs? Yes way, man!" and sometimes I be like "Holy molly! Two paragraphs!" Sometimes I be like that.

It would strictly depend on the topic as one liners really do not grab me either. Sometimes it is nice to get as much as necessary in the OP discussion so that we know what we are discussing.

Hi there treedezy!!!
Well if the discussions really get my attention and if it is that interesting for me,I will read it no matter how long it will be.I am actually fond of reading things that interests me.And I think here in mylot, before responding into any discussions i think we should all read the whole posts in order for us to give a sound advice and to avoid giving wrong answers to some questions.
I actually read the whole posts before commenting or responding into a particular discussion coz I don't want the person who made the discussion that I didn't read his posts carefully that is why I gave him a wrong answer. It will be too embarrassing if I gave a response that is very far from the main topic of the discussion.
