Can you remember when you used the internet for the first time in your life??

I had a computer (ATARI 130XE) since about 1985, but didn't know about the Internet until 1996 or so. Then I only used it very-rarely in the school-library in order to do research, until 1999 when I went to Oklahoma City University where (being still moderately-handicapped) the Internet was a high percentage of my "life"---not so high as it is today, because I had "school" and "school-work" and lived 'far away.'

i remember i was in high school it was between 1984-1988.. probably 1984.. computers back then were very expensive my dad paid alot for ours.. i was so happy we could afford one.. i remember thinking it was great.. my first chat program was called icq i loved that program... stayed on it for hours..

I have been using the Internet since 1995, and fell in Love with it from the start and was quite interested in all that it could do. Personally I did not own a Computer, etc. at the time so always had to access the internet from somewhere else. And once I did, I was hooked to where eventually I had to get a WebTV and finally a computer from there.

I was in my late 40's before using internet first time. The reason i was so interested in the net was because i believed there was money making things you could do here. LOL!!! Im now 55 and still looking for that. Ive found mylots, ebay and amazon. The last two you got to have something to sell. So anyways i do not live in the state i was born and raised in. I keep in contact with old friends and relatives via the internet. E-mails, facebook, myspace, etc. I play games there too. But the game i love best is sims3. You dont need internet to play. They have updates and downloads online.

It was quite the interesting experience when I had first used the Internet. It was during the fifth grade of school. Needless to say, I had heard about the Internet, but it was quite a foreign concept. It would be another year before I got my own computer and really a few more months after that I would get Internet access. So yeah, its been a long time. It does seem a bit insane that there was a time without the Internet for me. However, it is very true. If anything I would have liked to have access to the Internet perhaps a bit earlier, just to see how it was, but I would really have been too young to really appreciate everything but it would have been quite the interesting experience to say the least.

Hi. DeepakCool. To tell you the truth, I think that I had to have been about 24 years old when I first started to use the Internet. Anything before then is when I was in high school as a teenager.

I think it was 14-15 years back when I was in my high school days. I remembered that was the 1st time my mum got a computer for us 7 those days we only had 33.6kbps dial up, haha!~

This was many years ago now it seems! I didn't have Internet access at home and so I had to pop along to my local library and I would be on the Internet for free for the first hour, you would have to pay for continued use after that. The Internet is so compulsory for so many people now including myself and to have to live without it would not be possible. I do so many things online now which includes online banking and shopping and obviously staying in contact with friends all over the world. Are there any disadvantages? Well, if it can be classed as a disadvantage then I suppose it would be this, the fact that we rely on technology now and wouldn't know how to live or survive without it! We would act like small children throwing our rattle out of the pram were the Internet to be taken away from us! Good old technology, I love it! I use the Internet first thing in the morning when I wake up and I check my emails whilst drinking a hot mug of tea, lovely! Andrew

ya, i remember..i used internet in 1999 when iam in college year 2.. i used irc and the most favourite application in 1999 is only email and chat

hi deepakCool, in this office. yes, probably around 7 years back. i came from another office but there was no internet there although there was the computer and using the oldest program. my boss here is somewhat more of the modern way of working hence he introduced the new programs and of course, the internet. i didnt have a formal education on internets. i learned through experience - and from this office. now i get to read some manuals and also, through videos teaching how and what. have a nice day. ann

I was 14 and just barely learning how to use a computer. Then I discovered the world of chatting. And promptly got scolded by my parents as they said I was too young to be talking to strangers on the internet. Yeah, those were the days.

oh I don't necessarily recall my first internet use, but when I got my first comp. However, I think I started used the internet around the age of 14 and as it's normal I was kind of excited about it, but that excitement has vanished very soon lol

Yes, it was back in the 90s when we first hooked up to the Internet with our first ever PC. Before I had a stand-alone Amiga computer that I used for word processing and video editing. It was very slow. Anyway, my first Internet connection I thought was great, and I was more paitient in those days because it was on dial-up that wuld disconnect every hour or so. Hi To be frank, i dont remember when i first used internet in my life...was pretty long back maybe 12-13 years back. So u started using when you were just twelve? thats great coz when i first used i was surely 20+. Yes, now it has become a daily routine in our life.

I stating using Internet when i'm was in 1st year high school. That was my favorite subject(Internet 1), but it was so miserable for our class because the computer is ratio as 1:5. Yeah! as in 1 computer is to 5 student. Being a leader of the group is made me an advantage in our class because I'am the one who sit on the computer for hands on for a half hour while my members sit for only 5 to 6 minutes.

When I was in high school. And it was very good I thought it was difficult. I was amazed b'coz it so easy and very helpful for me on making projects and research. I so thankful that Internet was created.
