the Art of Trying, of Starting, of Persistence and of Perseverance

It seems there is the art of trying, of starting, of persistence and of perseverance ...
Trying and Starting
When a person considers a new activity, s/he tries and starts to do new things. Some would just revert to old habits yet some would find a "foothold" and keep on exploring. It seems the key is to find that "gut-feeling that something good is about to come out of the efforts"
Persistence and Perseverance
They say when a person is true to self, that person is able to persist in "his or her own direction". e.g. a good piano player will keep on practicing because there is progress and there is more motivation when the results are "coming in" even bit by bit ... Perseverance on the other hand seems to be needed when all seems hopeless ... e.g. when a person keeps on even when there is almost no hope ... it seems to be the human spirit that will not quit ...
It seems perseverance has made many new changes possible. When inventors are tired and almost losing motivation to keep on, something, for some reason or from some source, happens and something new comes by ... it's as if sometimes, they stop relying on their own understanding and let an Invisible Intelligence take over ... I think I can relate to that, when I let the Invisible Intelligence take over, may things in my life has gone right , Amen.

I could relate very well to this one because recently I have been through a major change in my life because of a decision in terms of my career. I took the risk, left my job to start something which I hope to have a really better outcome. My persistence and perseverance have been greatly tested. There are times when things do not seem to go the way I planned and expected them to be, but I try not to lose the motivation and the determination to pursue what I have started. I tell myself that this is the point of no return.

Thanks for your thoughts.
It seems in our careers, there are trying moments when we realize that it's almost unbearable. It's as if at times it asks from our total person something that is difficult to deliver. How do you get by these situations ... ?

Wow. I like the thought of this. I think that these are the things needed for success to happen.
Its just that the beginning of it is the hardest. Most people I know are stuck on the things that are familiar to them. They do not entertain the thought of something new. They may have their own reasons but things change by the second. Being open to new possibilities is something that someone should have in order for him to have his goal.
It is just sad that most of the minds of people are ruled by the fear that things might not work out the way they want them to. They are scared of failure. I just hope that I will possess these four essential things to grasp my aim.

Thanks for your ideas.
Perhaps there is the "structural violence" that stops people from "reaching out into new heights", so to speak.
Perhaps one may is to "spend a lot of time focusing, alone if needed". Personally, I played a mind game when I was young. I told my self, I would do something "unexpectedly pleasant." I ended paying the family debt and it was appreciated. But it took so much sacrifice. When I look back , it keeps me going in the hard times ...
I have had many small failures which taught me and had kept me on the right track to "tackle the big" tasks ... It seems to be a lot of thinking and rethinking as well as learning and relearning ... though it seems in the final analysis, it seems the best main goal was to be "an instrument of giving" ...

That may be so. I think the return will be sweeter when you have to sacrifice a lot for the benefit of the other. Do not worry about it. People get what they deserve you know and I think that with the things that you have done. You deserve so much better. It will come for sure.

I agree. I think once we realize to surrender and go with the flow or trust time, sometimes things happen... always things are happening beyond our control. And sometimes us trying to control is what stops the things to flow into our lives.

I'll start this post with an aphorism. "No you can have it all."
At least not now and not when you want. Rare are the moments when you get what you want when you want.
Even more rare are the times you can be satisfied that all you are doing well. Financial plan, social, emotional. This wonderful trio that could make anyone say "Yes! Now you are happy and satisfied ". But when you devote your full attention on something, you risk losing others in sight, until you come to fulfill your objective. Depend upon the objectives of each. Not all aspire to have it all. Some are content with little to make him happy every day. Nothing more accurately, respect!
But it's still a great satisfaction when you succeed on several levels simultaneously. A simple secret, in my opinion. Perseverance. And it appears, do not forget to savor the moment.
And to conclude as I began, because if the last part of the trio if the others are easier to obtain.
"The most important things in life are not things."
Great post.

As you mentioned: "The most important things in life are not things."
I think books can be written on that subject.
Lao Tzu mentioned about the importance of the Non-Being. He likens his point to the hollow part of a cup. Whether a gold cup or a clay pot, it is the hollow "nothingness" that is really important - to contain or at least to acknowledge what is to be poured in ...

Some people have difficulties in the staring of things or trying new stuff because they fear rejection or failure so they never do get to begin in anything and they miss the essence of living life. Some are also the other way around, they try new stuff often but do not persevere on it because of disappointments or the lack of faith from the so call Invisible Intelligence.I find it interesting that each individual have different reactions to all these situations. Some persevere and some don't. Some have such deep faith that all will go well and most of the time it does because they are so positive in their outlook that somehow it affects the outcome of what they are working for.It is really amazing!Unfortunately i am not such individual.I try a lot of new things but when trials and tribulation comes i seem to cower from them and start to veer away.I wish i had more faith and positive perspective to allow the Invisible Intelligence to take hold of what i am passionate about and just make me pursue my dreams.
