the New York Knick have upgraded their package for Melo trade but still the package the Nets laid is better. But it is up to Melo to decide where to go, it does not matter how great the offer of the Nets, if Melo does not want to sign an extension, it still would be useless.

I really wouldn't choose the Knicks with the package that is on the table. Yes Amare would still be there but The Knicks seem hell bent on tearing up their roster for Anthony. They have some good pieces to build around.

they need a superstar to sell and they can't wait to make that happen.

Amare is a superstar already. It would be great to have them together but I don't think it's a good idea to package what they have.

Carmelon Anthony is definely a hot star now .Seeing James and Bosh went to Miami to make the Big Three ,Anthony might consider to follow suit .However ,no matter in Nets or in Knicks ,he can't find two counterparts. So ,to my mind ,Anthony may not stay in low and make a choice untill his contract is over .All in all ,whatever team he choose to join ,it must be a fierce blow .

you are right he is hot but going to the Nets would not make the team good enough to contend in the East. he will surely go to New York.

Teams in the NBA today are being built to win immediately like never before. The season the Spurs are having--their whole team, in fact--is more of the exception rather than the rule.
The Celtics really started it all when they brought in their big three and actually won! Before then, it was tried sporadically, by teams like the Wizards (still the Bullets at the time), the Hornets (still Charlotte), and even the Heat pre-Wade (they grabbed Zo and whatshisface from Bostom and had a squad), among others.
But once Boston won immediately with their pickups, now all teams are trying it where they can.
The Knicks are the best fit for Anthony if he's looking to be part of a proverbial superteam. Amare is already there, and they can lure in Chris Paul next season easily, I think, with that duo, making a trio that might actually be better than Miami Thrice (because Paul at point can demolish those guys, as Rondo proves consistently).
The Nets will always be bottom rung. They've tried to build their superteam before, with Carter, Jefferson, Kidd, etc, and couldn't get out of East. That atmosphere is just bad; Melo should stay away and jump up to New York with Stoudamire.

The package Knick put on the table is attractive. Since Knicks have been stayed out of the contender in the east for many years, They want to build a team could win immediately and get Anthony at all costs. With Felton and Gallinari being traded away, it will wager the team's future. There are still problems that Amare and Anthony don't conflict in the position and make good cooperation. If the team perform poorly, Paul will consider not to join, Knicks will experienced another hard times.

The best decision for Carmelo would be to go to the Knicks here. Clearly the Nets have the better offer on the table right now, but that has no effect on him unless he's extremely desperate to get out of Denver. The Nets proposed deal would be a mega-deal, essentially trading away three starters from each team. It's key that the Nets' offer includes 4 first-round picks. If I were the Nuggets and Nets I'd be trying to get Melo to sign that extension as he said he would consider.
That being said, if the Knicks can get a deal done without giving up Raymond Felton or another complimentary piece like Danillo Gallinari being traded away, they will be primed to seriously contend in the East next year. Acquiring Melo would easily sway CP3 to head to Madison Square Garden and give the Knicks the next "Big Three".
If this deal gets done then the NBA will be entering it's second "Golden Era" with 4 great teams in one conference, each with 3 big time players. The Celtics with Garnett/Pierce/Allen, the Heat with LeBron/Wade/Bosh, the Bulls with Rose/Boozer/Noah and now the Knicks would join them with Stoudemire/Anthony/Paul. Any of those teams could come out of the East next year, so the question for the Knicks is, are they willing to make this deal happen?

for sure the will make this happen. the reason they are willing to give up Raymond Felton is because they knew they could lure CP to go to New York in 2012.
