Mcdonald's wedding reception

We know many children's birthday parties were being held at fastfoods like McDonald's while wedding reception were usually held at expensive restaurants, hotels or maybe some catering services. lately McDonald's Hong Kong is thinking outside the box, they were planning to offer wedding receptions as part of the services aside from children's party. I can understand how a children's party will fit with Mcdonald's but a wedding in a fastfood chain is something I dont think Bride's will dream off. source: http://www.weirdasianews.com/2010/11/06/mcdonalds-slated-offer-ultracheap-mcweddings/ can you imagine getting married in Mcdonald's or will you still prefer expensive restaurants or catering services.

Ahhh. But I have read of a story where there is one couple who had their wedding reception at a Mcdonald's store. It was cheap alright, but I think they just wanted something different and something new that's why they did it. I was thinking of doing the same thing, though I'm leaning towards Jollibee more, but my parents won't let me do it. LOL.

Ahehehe. I'm actually after the food and being different rather than being romantic. LOL. I want a breakfast reception, and Jollibee breakfast menu is one of my favorite breakfast foods, hence the idea of a Jollibee reception.

Jollibe, I can imagine dancing mascot and free Baloons, At least people can have other variety of food aside from burgers since Jollibee have pasta, Palabok, fried chicken, chicken barbeque and dessert. Its menu is much larger than Mcdonalds. I saw wedding reception at Max's and Mang Inasal but they look much more romantic than Mcdonalds and Jollibee.

I'm not the usual type of girl who dreams of a grand wedding, but I definitely wouldn't have McDonald's as the venue for my wedding reception. It just feels kinda strange and inappropriate. I guess certain events require particular types of venues. When I hear of McDonald's party, all I could think of is a child's birthday party. LOL! No McDonald's wedding reception for me. I prefer to make arrangements with a restaurant or a hotel.

I think even a backyard barbecue party looks more decent having a happy meal during the reception, The ring bearer and the flower girl might enjoy it more than the bride and groom.

I'm sure every woman out there would say no way! But there would be a few guys, about to get married, who would say yes. This is just moments before they get smacked on the head by their fiancees. I think McDonald's should just stick to what they are good at. And stay away from this wedding idea as it will surely fail.

Maybe they think after years of children's party experience they think they can finally pull off a wedding buffet, A wedding were your Menu is Big mac and Cheese burgers, or maybe some McChicken nuggets, the wedding soveiner would be a happy meal toy. I know most brides wanted a perfect wedding to the point they turn into Bridezillas.

All I can say is "cheap" : it is unbeatable for the price ! If you have 3 or 4 hundreds guests, it can be the right place for a small reception... before a more serious one with only your family and close friends. I don't know why they made the choice of Hong-Kong for a test ? Never mind the city : I don't think that a test like this one can be successful.

I think its the economy thats why Mcdonald's is trying this experiment, they want to see if some couples will bite this gimmick because a party held at Mcdonald's is cheaper than a party in a restaurant or cooking a feast in your lawn. yeah its kinda cheap and unromantic but I dont know if people will try this. I wonder if Ronald will be in the wedding.

You can't be more unromantic for a divorce. If you have a lawn, you can at least offer a drink to your friends. And for couples with no money and no lawn... maybe they can marry later. If Ronald wants to kiss the bride, you can ask McDonald's to refund your money.

I can imagine how wacky suck reception party would look like, I wonder if that certain branch will be closed down temporarily during the wedding party or we are going to see customers coming in and out to buy their big macs,

a simple dinner in your house will do, I think its more intimimatee, my brother is broke when he got married, My mom and dad just cooked dishes for his wedding, no restaurants at all, I think its much better than Mcdonalds.

would you mind a wedding reception in McDonald's or would you stick with the classy restaurants for the sake of formality and being romantic?

Your right I don't think I know one bride who ever dreamed of getting married at McDonalds but who knows there might be someone out there who wants her wedding there...

Most likely a couple who doesnt have enough money but still wants to have a reception on their wedding might do that. Its going to look weird though.

My first wedding we had the reception at the church. I was widowed and then remarried. My second marriage was a small wedding and then we went to a buffet restaurant and had a private room, excellent food. The only time I could feature a bride and groom choosing a McDonald's reception would be if they had met there, or if they worked there. Only a sentimental reason.

The sentimental reason might make sense, if Mcdonald's really means something to them. I have a cousin who got married at a certain restaurant and the food served have overload of MSG.

WHY NOT?? hahaha i was thinking of this too.. and i realized, why not? i mean the whole of point the wedding is to have the bride and groom married and has nothing to do with food. its just that people got used to having traditional stuff..and well we cannot deny that bride's do want their wedding fairy tale like..of course that includes the reception, the scene must be like in the story book..all romantic, some even candle lit dinner..with candles and all...but then a mcdo will do.

So lets say you did go for the McDonald's reception route, What would be the menu? is there going to be balloons? I mean most Mcdonald's kiddie parties have balloons,Most brides indeed want to feel like a Princess on their wedding day. they wanted everything top be grand perfect and expensive, and yes it has something to do with fairy tales because most little girls wanted to be princesses when they grow up.

That is quite outside of the box, but I've heard of actual weddings taking place at the 99 cent store. I think it was on 9/9/09 they married at the 99 cent store! I've also heard of a couple marrying at the Home Depot too. I guess as long as you're creative and people will make news about you, you can do it anywhere! Buahaha.

I dont remember 99 cents store and Home Depot offering catering services but thats is definetly outside the box beyond repair. Well its their party not mine, as long as it makes the, happy, I give them the best wishes.

You know getting married or having the reception at McDonald's doesn't top my list of dream weddings! lol! I guess if we were both managers there it would be okay. I did like working at McDonald's but not too sure I'd plan a wedding any where near there! lol!

I agree with what gerty said above, if McDonald's held some special meaning in the couples life, i could see MAYBE holding a wedding there. Not too long ago i read an article about a wedding taking place but at a Dunkin' Donuts, but that is because the couple met there, and they were both big fans of dunkin donuts coffee and never ever started their day with out it. I personaly wouldn't dream of getting married in a mcDonalds, unless they had the most AWESOME playground ever! LoL

LOL about the Playground, I can see the mascots and Ronald Mcdonald dancing in the party. They should be beware of Mcburglar because he might steal their burgers.

A fastfood establishment is not where you would expect to find a wedding reception. Stranger things can happen. In this struggling economy, we may see happen on more occasions. I guess that having a wedding recption at McDonalds would be one way of keeping your wedding expenses affordable too.

Mcdonald for wedding day??? No, I will not serve my guest with those unhealthy food. They might be delicious and cheaper but it will not suit my taste~I will prefer to cook the food by myself rather than serve them with Mcdonald's food.

That gives me the notion you prefer to serve your guest with real food build by scratch and pure love so the wedding day will give them good memories and a great smile on their faces.

Hello Honey, Oh god, I pretty much can't stand McDonald's and getting married at the local McDonald's down the street, is definitely NOT my wedding dream day. I swear if that stupid clown goes anywhere near me, I am going to kill it.

LOL, I dont know what to say but there is a certain point in my life were I was so afraid of clowns. I think uninvited visitors might also be a nuisance because they will enter mcdonalds to buy a burger or some nuggets.
