Some people said china will become the biggest superpower in the near future. What do you think? True? False?

I think that is very definitely a possibility. They have the money, the people, what they lack for, they buy. How do you define a superpower? Is it military prowess? They are working on that, if they aren't already there. The U.S. has been instrumental in allowing the Chinese to progress militarially. Is it economy? This is more complex, but at the end of the day, the Chinese hold a lot of capital. They aren't shy about spending it, either. Is it influence? The Chinese are becoming more and more influential. All of these factors add up to their being a real contender for the title. However, there is one unknown in the equation; Civil rights. China is not exactly the best when it comes to protecting its people. Its regime is oppressive and secretive. People don't like being oppressed, especially when they are living well. The more financial freedom they have, the more literal freedom they want. China has had to deal with problems against its regime in the past with horrible results. How that will play out, no one knows, but if you're dealing with insurrection within, it's hard to be a superpower without.

Yes I think so. Because they have the biggest population in the world. And also the biggest energy company is Chinese Company.

I think they are already are. If you could just see that the their economy is not affected by any country like the US and other big countries. They can easily survive it with their own economy there. I just hope that if they become one they do not used this for conquest purposes but for economic reasons only. Sometimes a country is destroyed because of their greediness.

OK...first of all, let me say that this is VERY good for your first discussion here. It is actually probably one of the best first discussions I have ever seen... Now, to answer your question, China certainly has some potential. They are quickly emerging as a dominate force in the world economy. They own A LOT of the debt owed by the United States. When I hear people on CNBC or other business media stations, it is usually not very long until someone says something about China. It is certainly one of the worlds hot-spots for investment opportunities right now. I am not as familiar with the political situation in China right now as some other people on the site may be, nor do I know much about their military, but I have heard that their educational system is good, and that it is getting better, so that is another thing they have going for them. They certainly have an advantage in land mass, and one would think that a country of that size would have a vast amount of resources at their disposal. From some of the pictures I have seen of China, they seem to have vast amounts of wood that could be logged, but there is also no telling what may be buried deep underground within their borders. There could be vast amounts of oil, iron ore, gold, natural gas, or other resources there just waiting to be discovered. Again, this is something that I do not have a lot of knowledge about, because I have never really studied China at all. The only real question would be whether they had the resources such as logging or mining equipment to efficiently access whatever resources they happened to have. If I were an international investor, however, China would certainly be an area that I would seriously consider placing some of my investment capital in...

This can be occur! If China keep the development as present, they can reach to the biggest superpower. However, It's not important to me. I only discuss such as a chat

This is quite possible -- actually, anything is possible.lol - on a more serious note, i say this because China has the 2nd biggest economy right now and the US who has the top spot actually is actually in debt to China with the amount that reaches Trillions; so yeah....big possibility.not to mention China are creating missiles and stuff.
