Do you still remember there were some funny movies called police academy 1,2,3 mnay years ago.All the characters of the movies are still in my mind and they were just so funny. In reality, being a police may not be that fun.It involve lots of knowledge , skills and most of all "experience". When facing the "bad guys", each step is very important ot it will cost life of others or the police officers themselves.I have once thought of being a policeman in canada but thank God I have never gone through the hiring process. Otherwise, I am not sure if I am still alive or not.It is because they tried to hire somEone from Asia to take care of the Asian "bad guy" at that time. If I got passed and accepted , I would be the only Asian Chinese in that city at that moment. Everybody will know that who I was for there wwas no Asian police at that time.Plus, I would be the shortest and the smallest police in that city.(All of them were over 6 feet high ). If anything happen and I didn't use gun, I would be in big trouble.Share with us if you have some interesting to say about this topic.

Never mind, there rae still many others who are joing the police force everyday. Their pay are usually better than others in my city since the job is full of dangerous and challenge.I don't like the police in some oof the counties where corruption is every where and even the law enforcement personnel will becomes a bad guy in that situation. Since people are laywas greedy for money and the police will alwyas have a low professional ethics in those countries. Just look at countries in Asia,eg,Philippine, Mainland China and Vietnam today, and you will know what I mean.I hope that thsoe things can be changed , otherwise the people in those countries will alwyas suffer from all those unjustice action from the police.

completely never. in my country, law, including the police, can not be trusted. sharply at below, but obtuse at above. for a rich people, the law, like a friend. but, for a poor people, the law, like an enemy. because of that, i never thought become a police. too much temptation to be wicked. I'm already illfeel with the police.

That's sort of how it's like in America. The rich people would be most likely to like the police whereas the poor are wary of them, especially if you're from a racial group.

I don't think that the work of a police officer is something that I would be suited to. However, I do have a cousin that is currently a police officer and a few cousins that are former police officers and I think that they are all or were good police officers. Actually, a cousin of mine that is only a couple years younger than me is a police officer in Cincinnati right now and he has actually been on an episode of Police Women of Cincinnati as a backup that showed up on the scene.

I really want a career in the police, i'm trying to get a degree in police studies and a degree in law. But i'm not sure if the police force would be a great thing to aim for, due to the economic state of the country many police services are cutting jobs and aren't recruiting. So i'm a bit stuck as what to do, any help? should i peruse this aspiration or not?

Since I was in 10th grade i dream to become one. Well not really a police man, the police in my country is demilitarized. The branch of police which is militarized is the Gendarmerie. I want to take the exam this year to get in as a gendarme. This is the only think I could see myself do.

I have always found being a police officer interesting. I used to have a scanner when I was younger and would listen to all the police calls and would know what the different codes meant. I am a nosy person so when I see someone being pulled over or already pulled over I like to look to see whats happening. I have watched the movies and I think I could do those things but in real life I dont think I could pass the physical part of the test. I guess it is good to have a dream.

I do remember the police academy movies. They were very funny at the time. I even saw the guy who does all the imitations of different things live at a comedy club once. He was very funny I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time, I thought I was going to go in to labor from laughing so much.
I can't remember ever wanting to become a police officer even as a child, I wanted to be a flight attendant or a nurse when I was a kid and a hotel owner. I am a very petite woman so like you I would probably be the shortest and the smallest. Too dangerous for me, but I do appreciate the police very much.

I wouldn't want to be a policeman because I wouldn't want to shoot or kill anybody. I had an uncle and a cousin who were police officers and I know some personally. When I was a security guard, my uncle showed me some moves to help myself become safe from attack so there are some advantages to being a police officer. I agree with you that the Police Academy movies were very funny.

When I was at college I had some courses in criminology and criminal law in common with policemen wanting to be promoted at a higher rank, and I had during a year a fiancée who was a police officer. All I can say is that I would not like to be a policeman : they risk their life for a low salary, working in the mud of our society, and nobody respect their job. Many are depressed and I can understand this.

I never thought of becoming a police but I dream of joining CIA and become a secret intelligence. Yesterday I receive a call from an old friend/workmate and she said that she is fixing her requirements and she got the job at PNP, she will be assigned at the office but she still needs to be trained. I never expected her to join PNP but she's a little bit boyish. She explained that since most of the jobs here are contractual, it's hard to find that will last forever while if you are in a government like PNP, the job last.
