Have you ever thougt of being a fire fighter ?

While I do think that fire fighters are all heros, I know that this is definitely a job that I wouldn't be able to do. I think that the reason that I wouldn't be able to do this job roots to the fact that when I was a child I was deathly afraid of fires and to this day I still have a fear of them. However, the part that would be the hardest for me to deal with is the fact that there are people that perish in fires and I know that I would always be mourning those people.

Personally this has never been a type of job I would have ever considered as even though it is an awesome job people do in helping save others lives, this would have never been a type of job for me. I do honor the ones who do this job and for all the hard work, but a person who does this type of work has a strong stomache and a sense of adventure about them as well.

My son in law used to be a volenteer fire fighter. He could tell you some really horrid stories too. He's currently thinking about going back in the department. To go through what they do it's amazing. If you think about it, they risk their lives every day during every fire to save people. How many people do you think would really do that for a complete stranger. They are a category of many heroes out there. They should get reconized more often not just when they die.

You are very correct about saying the fire fighters are real heros...they risk their life to save others life...that's truly amazing.... i have always admired the fire fighter their dressing their swiftness their speed, how they work as a team...but dont know why even after admiring them i have never thought of becoming one... may be the reason could be the sane as you stated...the danger involved in the job...in our childhood the only job we wanted to do even though it had risk was army...rest all other were eclipsed under the dream of an armed force guy but i will always admire them and respect them..i salute the brave people who fight the most dangerous fire to save many others...

When I was young I remember getting a little fire hat and I was a play fireman. That's about the only time I wanted to be a firefighter. I had a kid from my neighborhood who was also a fellow Boy Scout who was the first Black firefighter in my city. So I respect them too.
