Hey guys, just wondering how much radiation we get from out computers and cellphones.. last week I have not been able to be online for some reasons, and lately I just experienced headache, and wow! its very painful, I just wonder is it because of the radiation, I wear my glasses which are anti- radiation and keep the lights on when using my computers.. but now seems like I can't get to stay longer on my pc, I need to have breaks every once in a while, how about you? and I experienced too back then that I loose energy fast when spending hours on computers and cellphones...hmmmnnn

Interestingly, just got this on an RSS feed from the Washington Post -- The latest on cellphones and cancer risk: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/checkup/2011/02/the_latest_on_cell_phones_and.html?wpisrc=nl_buzz "...I loose energy fast when spending hours on computers and cellphones..." I'd lose energy too, if I spent hours on a computer and cellphone. And that would come from sitting on my butt that long, I don't think miniscule amounts of radiation would have anything to do with it. Absolutely, everyone should take breaks from using a computer. Stand up. Stretch. Get the blood pumping again.

I do not know exactly about computer whether they produce radiation but I know the mobiles produce radiation and I saw a video in YouTube about i=phone getting exploded due to radiation.

Every mobile do not have so much radiation but some low price mobile with all functions like Chinese mobiles have more radiation than the good branded mobiles

I dont beleive you get alot of radiation everyday from using the computer or your cell phone. Yes they do put off radiation but i dont believe it is enough to harm you at all. Ive been using a cell phone for 10 years now and a computer for about 11 years now and without them i dont know where i would be in life. I also get headahces daily but i believe it is from being on the computer all day trying to make the best of my life and working as well. I believe it is becasue im staring at a screen and probably squinting when the sun decides to come around at my door at work and makes me squint and i start getting a headache. I dont think you are getting a headache due to the radiation at all.

From what I read on that site, it seems it also says you can protect yourself from radiation with magic symbols. That doesn't seem very scientific. Plus, I see they claim that scientists have discovered proof of harmful radiation from electronics, but I don't actually see any links to journals or published papers. I admit I only skimmed the site briefly so I might have missed something they said. But still, I wouldn't put much trust in them.

well,hmmmn... I've read something about this site go check it out www.radiation-robs-your-life.com it states there that scientists discovered that radiation from these gadgets harms our brain, mind and body and the site says that cp's and computers causes irreversible diseases...hmmmmn and they have a gadget to prevent it, nowadays certain preventions are popping out to which many diseases and illnesses arise...

I see, I only too have browsed that site it just so happen that it caught my attention... coz here in our country some pendants are coming out that is some like anti-radiation pendants or quantum pendant have you heard about it?

To be precise, yes, the do emit some radiation, mainly for cellphones. For cells, their main function is just to emit radio waves to communicate with the company (the "signal" they use to talk). They may or may not be dangerous over time, it's long discussed and no sure conclusions have been taken, but it's know that using it in reduced spaces like cars makes them not so inoffensive. For computers, they also produce some radiation, but the amount is minimal and is in fact a side effect of the normal working of electronic components, so it can be neglected. What is not so minimal is the effect of bluetooth and wifi devices, like cellphones use radio waves as "wires" to link to each others. I don't think that can be dangerous at all, but some are saying that it might cause cancer in the long run, however nothing has real proof, it's not proved that it causes any bad, but it's neither proven that it does NOT causes any bad.

hmmmmm... you have a point there, its just now that I knew, blue tooth and wifi have increased level of radiation, no wonder without seeing these waves it might harm us in the future, or slowly harming us, we are overexposed nowadays, every establishment here has wiFi connections...

well, I think that the old monitors are bad for the eyes and can cause headache. I say this because I usually sit in front of a LCD (TFT?) screen but I recently had to work in front of an old tube monitor. After ten minutes or so I got a headache. The radiation in such a monitor is X-rays and a small percentage can penetrate the screen. It's said that the leaked radiation is harmless but I won't bet on it. as for cell phones there are some studies that suggest that a continued use of them can cause brain tumors because of the microwave radiation (microwaves are also used to cook stuff in your microwave oven). Cheers

What about your sitting posture? Incorrect posture can result in neck and head pain. I have not experienced any pain sitting in front of computer for 2 hours continuously. Just for your information, everything emits radiation and only the type and level of radiation that varies. Even your own body emits infra red radiation! But I don't know what type of computer radiation is this.

Yes our body does emit radiation, it is the heat inside us,it is made up of 6 voltz, actually... but that is good for us, and I guess too much or less radiation is harmful and that I am also aware that everything has radiation, just wondering that of computers and cellular phones, these gadgets are often with us anyways... hmmmn, 2 hours only? agreed about the sitting position it does add up as a factor on my back pain (glad its gone now, relieved), but I guess that one is not for me, though I really had headache, when I stayed for about 5 hours or more on my pc (I do have breaks but for 5 minutes only...)

yes, i have read a lot of articles and i am sure that is fact. the radiation from computers are harmful. but the most harmful are the one coming from cell phones. that is the reason why people are not allowed to use cell phones at petrol pumps. there are many articles which warn use from not using cell phones for long hours continuously. Even i have read that doctors recommend pregnant ladies not to use too much cell phone. when there are so many things being written, then there has to be something wrong about it, in't it?

Agreed that's why I started this discussion to see if people is aware or unaware what radiation can do to our health... because I have experienced staying longer hours in front of the computer and on cellular phones too, and it really sucks up my energy

I also suffer from headaches and even numbness in my hands, and i know it is from too much exposure to computer and cellphones. The problem is, i cannot do away with these things because it's where my almost entire work evolves. I just take vitamins and other medicine to ease the pain and keep me physically healthy.

I doubt they produce enough radiation to harm me. I know there are some people who claim cell phones emit harmful microwaves or something, but as far as I know, none of the sources who claim that are reputable or trustworthy. As for headaches or tiredness when using computers, it's probably due to a combination of factors like blinking less often when staring at the screen, having a screen that's too bright, sitting still for long periods of time, etc.

I don't know, but I knew that is a fact. Radiation is not inevitable though, you have to stay in front of the computer a whole day especially, you might have a major headache for staying in front of it too long. Also, I also afraid to chat too long having my cellphone on my ears.

I dont have any idea how much radiation we get from the our computers or even in our television. Me I am online for long hours and I even turn off the lights but still I would not feel any headache. May I ask are you using a flat screen. Because according to some experts if you are using a flat screen of LCD monitor it has a less radiation effect.

Yes, I am using a flat screen monitor...

surely, computer also emit radiations as they are also made of electronic components & circuits. only the level of radiation varies. mobile emit more radiation than computer. CRT display will emit more radiation compared to LCD and are also harmful to eyes and cause head ache.

aw? is that the reason why it is not good to put our cellular phones hooked on our neck and inside our pants-pocket? they say, that is where we usually get cancer and cysts...

I think, computers do have radiations too. This is proven by stories of others who gets a strong headache, when they spend too much time on the computer. Others would feel dizzy. Though, its radiation is milder compared to that of cellphones. So maybe we should not be spending too much time on our computers.

Yes, but how about those who work in front of the computers?hmmmmmnnn.. and those who love to engage in an unlimited call? hmmmmmnnn
