When you become a burden and not a blessing

My trusted friend yester-night told me that one of these days, when he no longer be a blessing, that God will just take him. He is obviously bearing a burden but I admire him for his courage and strength to keep on keeping. How can I be a blessing to him during the time of his grief? I want to be a blessing to him but I have my own things to do. It is only in prayer that I know I can be of help to him. If you are having a friend with such circumstance, how can you be a blessing?

Personally I think the best way you can be a Blessing for someone is by being there when they need you offering guidance and support and to let them know you care and are praying for them. I know it is sometimes so easy to allow yourself to get down and situations get in the way. But when you learn to focus more on others than yourself and allowing God to move everything will be OK.

I learned that being a blessing to others have a big impact when we can have time for them, to pray and to help out financially during times of need. Thank you for such a wonderful response.

It sounds as you already are a very concerning good friend. To be a good listener, have an undemanding friendship, keep friends in your prayers and to be there for each other sharing the ups and downs of life is a true genuine blessing. What is easy for some people can be a hard burden for others to deal with. Giving encouragement and appreciation to one another are uplifting blessings.

Sometimes as a friend you don't have to do a lot, but only to listen. Listen to what he is about to share to you. Listen with an open heart and no distractions. Aside from praying, which is a also a great help i'm sure, you can also spend a little time with him. Just to let him know that you are there and willing to help and to listen to things that is bothering him. I think you have to act now before depression hits him. Goodluck.

Very inspirational, you indeed are a good friend. I agree just caring, praying and keeping in touch with another human being is awesome and can bring them encouragement. I believe we are all in this world together and we need to stick together. It is a joy to be a blessing whenever we can. Great post
