Too Many Interests

"Interests" are a great way to arrange the discussions in groups. It's easier to browse them and find what you need. But now I see too many interests for the same topic
We had "make money", "earn money" and "make extra money". Today I discovered also "ptc sites". There is no need to explain that the four groups are about the same thing - earning and mainly online earning. And of course the discussions in them are the same.
I don't know who creates the interests. But maybe they need a rearrangement.

i do agree with you, just like my lot too. the interest that we can find is' the regular websites that you visit'
or maybe just mylot.com.
and as you had said that the topic is just the same. i just join on eof them and never add any interest with the similar interest

The interests section is not user friendly. When I am going to create a discussion I can get overwhelmed sometimes.
I agree they do need some sprucing up.

I was in Lambs discussion the other day about the interests and he and many others say it really does not matter. No discussion will ever be deleted because it was in the wrong interest.
I saw one the other day about making pizza in the make extra money interest and it has nothing to do with making money.
So really it is to your own discretion. So people, life, myLot seem to be the most popular. Best of luck.

Yeah the Interest section could use a little bit of a fine tuning. And by a little bit of a fine tuning, there would need to be a lot of fine tuning. For instance, I believe there are several different forums just for myLot itself which is a rather insane example. There are really a lot of duplicate forums and really I would not envy the person who would have to do such a thing.
So yeah, there needs to be a lot of clean up. The making money is another example, as really it just spreads the content a bit too thin and it can be be a bit confusing where to put the topic. I mean is earning money the same as making money and also the same as making extra money. Hopefully a clean up can be done before too long, because it is rather confusing to say the least sometimes.

not really a big deal what ever you want to put your discussion as long as in the same category like money for money and life for life.. since I'm first here I noticed that but I just select which one is good picture logo.. see you around

Yes they are the same but some are used more than others. I love the interests it make mylot more fun instead of just a whole pile of mixed up disscusions. I'm really getting the hang of mylot now. Just type and type. I aggree it's way easier to respond to the disscussions that interest you. Happy mylotting, mylotters.

All of the interests are created by myLotters themselves.
Concerning the money-making interests, there are even more than the ones you mention. Sadly when a user creates a new interest they don't check first to see if there is already one that is similar to the one that they are about to create.
Not to worry, just add them all then you can't go wrong!

I think that it is confusing that there are so many interests about the same topic. There are a lot of interests about money, several interests about MyLot (mylot.com, mylot, mylots etc) and several interests are travelling. One of them is called travel, another one is called traveling and a third interest is called travel the world. They are all about the same topic and it would be easier to find new discussion about a topic if there was just one interest instead of so many different ones.

You are right. The moderator of our group can have a re-look to classify all groups with similarity as pointed herein so that it is more convenient for members to share their thoughts.
