At what point is a person considered an alcoholic?

I have a friend and we drink alcohol from time to time together. But I like to drink socially, not when I am alone. She drinks all day everyday but says that I am an alcoholic. I don't think so when she has gotten to the point that she can't can't go anywhere or do anything without drinking first. Now yall tell me, does this sound like I am the alcoholic?
