Hi All, As expected, AC Milan mid fielder Gattuso was handed a 4 match ban for all UEFA club competitions for his headbutt and assualt on the Tottenham coach Joe Jordan. That means Gattuso will be out for 5 games since he is already suspended for the next game by collecting 3 yellow cards. However, there has been no action against Jordan for his behaviour. Do you agree with this punishment? Shouldn't Jordan have been given punishment as well?

I think Gattuso got what he deserved. He handled the situation very bad, and his behaviour was not acceptable. I don't think Jordan should have any punishment.

Why do you think Jordan should have no punishment? He should have stayed at his place and not provoked the player.

Yes, of course, but in football there are a lot of provocation. Both on the field and outside the field. Jorden should have stayed, where he where supposed to stay, but what he did is not for any punishment I think.

i think that Gattuso should have had a bigger ban considering a few seasons ago that Drogba got a 6game ban just for verbals. Surely a headbutt is alot worse and if he had done this in a street he would have been done for assault . I do not think that Jordan should have been punished at all as he did not do anything bare in mind that earlier in the game Gattuso had put his hand to Jordan's neck so this is two offences which are both serious I think he should have been banned from European competition for this season and next season. Otherwise he will do it again.

You are suggesting some harsh punishments. Jordan used verbal abuse and if Drogba was punished so should be Jordan.

I think Gattuso got what he deserved. For a change UEFA have taken a tough stance for these kinds of on field behavior. I would also love to see UEFA modify it's rule to add additional punishment to players who do horror tackles like the Flamini tackle. Under current laws if the player is booked, then there will be no subsequent action, but I would rather want to see a post match punishment for such challenges. Cheers! Ram

I very much agree with your point. Post match punishment should be there for horrific tackles.

The antics is unacceptable and the punishment is just dues. As for Jordan, yes, he was involved in the fiasco but at no point did he raise his hands against Gattuso. But then again, if Jordan is to get suspended, Spurs would not have missed him as much as AC without Gattuso.

This is a fair punishment for Gattuso, but Jordan should have been punished as well. It is not fair play to provoke a player who has a lot of pressure on him, because it is not the same to be tired and pressured than to sit on the bench and saying bad things to Gattuso. UEFA makes lots of stupid decisions, David Silva never got suspended for headbutting Podolski in the Euro 2008 final. UEFA is the same as FIFA, punishes only what it wants too.

Yes, that's what I feel. Jordan should have been banned as well. Why punish only one party?
