Is there any goals in your life that you have finally achieved? Or you did not even achieve the desired goal you want? For example, a woman's goal was to go outside the country and earn a lots of money, but she was not able to achieve it. As for me, I have this ultimate goal in my life, but I was so afraid that I might not be able to achieve it or may be I think negatively so that's why I feel this way. For those people who have this ultimate goal and have finally achieved those goals in your life, what are those motivational skills, strategies and techniques that I must do so as to achieve my ultimate goal? Even if we do have goals to achieve, there are still lots of distraction everywhere. I can't blame those people who did not succeed in achieving their goals.

ACtually i have this huge goal about which i had dreamed from when i was really young. I have lots of opportunities this year, so this year I am going to achieve it. I hope i have enough strength and god's blessing to face any obstacles whatsoever.

i think when man is near to achieve his goal he simply enhances his goal and again start to get his goal.
So it is very difficult to say if we are satisfied after achieving any goal.

To an extent, but have not really achieved my goal. It has been my dream to set up my own company in the international trading business. I do not have the financial means yet. But, I am working for a company which is in the sector, and I am gaining experience in the business. That is very helpful, and I hope some day I will get there.

For me, knowing what your goals are is the key. If you determine this, you'll know how much further you have to go, what obstacles you'll be dealing with, and most importantly, knowing when to stop when you've achieved that goal.
Know How Far You Are. Upon knowing how far you are from the goal that you've set from yourself will give you a clear vision of how and when you're gonna get there. You can setup schedules and plans to prepare yourself. There's a saying that goes something like "A rushed plan of today is better than a carefully deviced plan of tomorrow." I've found this to be false quite often. Following this will just make you regret a lot of things like asking yourself "What could have happened if I had done this?" which is a waste of time. We all don't wanna regret the decisions that we do because it worries us, which, in turn, flushes a considerable amount of our time valuable time down the drain. Knowing how far your are from the goal you've setup for yourself eliminates this hindrance and further optimizes your choices. Yeah, planning could cost you time but rushing could cost you more time.
Know The Obstacles You Have To Go Through. Like in an obstacle run, you have to plan your moves first. What part are you going to conserve your energy, what part are you gonna give it all out. Sun Tzu is a famous war strategist and a large amount of his time for every battle he had won, he had invested on planning. There's a famous quote he had claimed, "Knowing both yourself and your enemy can win you a hundred battles." If you know your limits and the obstacles you have to go through, you'll know how you're going to get around them, one obstacle at a time.
"Know When To Stop." Just as important as knowing how far you are from your goal, you also have to know when you've already achieved it. At this time, you have to stop or you could ruin the whole thing. Professional casino players know this. They have a threshold as to how much winnings they already have and they know full well that they have to stop or else they could lose those winnings. If you wanna go on, just setup another goal separate from the one you've accomplished and start from the first step.

Well I did intend to get my Bachelor's degree in college and I have in fact done that. Now I am plugging away on the Master's degree. So that is obviously step two on the list of goals that I have in my life. I have had several smaller goals, mostly on a week to week basis. When you think about it, there are many smaller goals that serve to feed the larger goals that we have.
It is a bit of a tedious road to achieve goals. Especially if you don't break them up into something that is fairly more manageable. Sometimes you need to take one large goal and divide into into more goals, offering as checkpoints. That way while you have the inevitable destination in sight, you aren't too stressed about hitting that one big thing. Hit the first part of the goal and its a success. Then again and it is all about building momentum and confidence will build.

No, I haven't achieved any goal yet, at least my life goal toward making a lot of money, and travel a lot of places, and married the most beautiful woman in the world, and the most kindest woman. Well, that is my fantasy isn't it? At least I dreamt about it. I am working toward it as well right now.

Well, I have almost met most of my goals, but not all of them. Then again, I am young, so I have plenty of time to complete some of them.

Hi IntrovertShy,
I could guess the content in the post just by reading the title itself. Well to be frank I have achieved my goal that was set when I was mere a school goer. Whenever a teacher in school explained so well that I needed not to revise at home would inspire me to be a teacher.
But my goal was to be a college professor. And getting through one after another examination I finally passed my post graduation in English literature and language. And lo! just within a couple of month I was in front a huge gathering of students in college and I did not look for any other alternative jobs like civil service or the like.
As asst. professor now I am happy. So I have no complaint to lodge against my life.

There have been lots of goals in my life that I have achieved. I find that I'm always setting goals. It really helps me work harder towards meeting them! I also think that sometimes it's important to change goals if things in your life have changed. Anything that you need to do to make acheiving them reasonable and realistic. As far as recent goals, one of my recent goals that I have met is learning to sew. I had it as a goal for the new year and I've already started learning! I have some other goals for 2011 that I have started on also.

There are a few goals that I've set years back when I didn't have quite a clue how things are going to be like when I start to work. They're still there and I'm still trying to accomplish them, slowly but surely unlike what I might have planned of achieving such goals in a few years time after college. Life is tough. Working life is really not simple just as I might have imagined. Still, I don't give up and I'm not planning on giving up any time soon.

Its great to think about ultimate goals, but its so much more productive to keep it in the back of your head and focus on what you can do in the present moment to improve your standing relative to that goal. If I'm lacking any motivation, I just dwell on my goal and really immerse myself in the feeling of already achieving it. Soak that feeling of happiness up and then utilize it to further expand yourself in the direction of your goal.
