Although most ipads are cool and fun to play with .I feel that the ipad is yet not much ready to be called matured for full time computing. They look good ,feel good with a good interface but not yet powerful.
Most of the ipads/handhelds have inbuilt os like android 2.3 gingerbread or ios.
I won't buy an ipad before 2 years as i feel that they are good but not yet a necessity but somewhat fashion or chic.
What do you think my friends ? I need your opinions.
Do you feel like me ?

I don't have an iPad and will probably never buy one. I don't play games or have any use for most of what it offers, and since I already have a computer, there's no point. I will always want to use a real keyboard, not a flat touch one, which is clumsy and way too slow. My ideal, for maybe 50 years in the future is a portable computer that unfolds and has a real keyboard. There have been a few attempts at this, I think, but not very well designed. Something like a netbook, maybe, but smaller.

You're free to form your own opinion, of course, but you don't know anything about me. I have no use for an iPad, since my computer does everything I need. And I really doubt they will replace computers. It's far more likely that they will be one more option.

Well if you think the ipad is a toy you are not ready for one. AS for replacing a laptop no way. I would say a notebook if you ae a person who does not do much writing or writes short notes and just surfs. I cannot see an ipad replacing a laptop or computer if the person is a novelist, musician, etc. I think Ipads are an addition to a computer in that it is easier to take them on a trip or carry around. Also good for reading books if you need glasses, and possibly to show photos or show some movies, etc. for yourself.
I plan to buy an ipad around Christmas or mainly sooner as it is easier for me to read and to show photos, but I will find oher uses for it. It is easier to read things on it then my iphone.

I have different perception in Ipad. I think IPAD can replace computers or laptop first because it is so portable. if I will attend a meeting. I would rather bring Ipad rather than laptop because today, you can almost do everything in IPAD's
Happy lotting

I am fan of Apple products.. But replacing ipad with notebook.. its not possible with current level that what i think. At last it is depend on our activity.. I mean if person only using notebook for entertaining purpose like for listening music videos and photos then ipad have all that functions.. But if someone is using laptop at professional stage then ipad is not good option.

I think that they are great. It is more convenient since you have a computer on the go however I believe that it can never replace your main computer. There is just so much that you can do with your desktop that you can never do with handheld devices. Laptops can't even satisfy other users especially gamers.
I think that if given the chance, I will have one of these things but I will always keep my desktop computer.
