Its already 3 in the morning and I still cant sleep.
I had a headache from 9pm till 1am.
I tried to avoid watching TV and facing the computer.
I tried so hard to sleep early and rest my mind.
Still, I just lay in bed doing nothing with my mind awake.
When I checked my watch, its 3am.
I noticed that for the past 2 or 3 days I am having a headache when night time come.
What could be the reason?

I use a calcium and magnesium supplement along with melatonin. There are numerous techniques you can use to relax, you just have to find one that suits you. But calcium and magnesium act as a relaxer to the nervous system. Melatonin is a hormone produced by the body that regulates sleep patterns. Getting a good amount of sunlight early in the day, then turning down the lights at night will trigger the body to produce more melatonin. As we age we make less of it. Stress will also keep us from making enough to get to sleep. I also use the supplement 5-htp which helps the body produce a more relaxed nervous system. It also helps with depression. These are the things I do. :)

There are many possible reasons why people have difficulties in sleeping at night. Maybe you can't sleep because of stress, or you have ingested too much caffeine, or worst your already having sleeping disorders like insomnia, hope not.
I suggest to refrain from drinking coffee or soda in the evening, because this contains caffeine. Try milk if you like. Before you sleep, take a soothing shower or listen to soothing music. Try to stretch and relax, be patient, find a comfortable position, adjust the temperature, and in no time you'll be in your way to being able to fall asleep.

Try reading your Bible and praying; it works everytime! Now, your headaches may simply be the result of lack of sleep.

I have been feeling this way too the past couple of nights and really dont know what to about it. When i start feeling tired i do go to bed but before falling asleep i take beendryl and that helps me to fall asleep. When im tired i could lay in bed for hours not doing anythng and just laying there and that bothers me so that is why i take benedryl and that helps me fall asleep at night. If i dont take this i would be in bed for hours not sleeping and that wont work as i have to get to work the next day.
I dont know where the headaches are coming from but if i knew i would tell you. I think mine are from not eating or drinking cafeeine but that is me, i also feel very stressed out lately and have alot on my mind.

Hi angeljhing,
The only reason that i can think of is maybe your caffeine sensitive? Maybe you had coffee, soda or anything with caffeine prior that day. I know my girlfriend when drinks soda in the afternoon she gets a hard time sleeping at night. So try to avoid caffeine other than in the morning. I hope that may help you.
