After a few seasons of Chelsea being a decent side in the league and easily beating the mid table teams they are now not doing this. The team does not seem as good as before and this is shown by the fact that they are slowly falling out of the title race and lost to Everton in the FA cup. I think that Chelsea need to change their manager quite quick to make the team perform better as if they continue the way they are they may not make it into europe next season.

I don't think so.
I'm a United fans. And i keep the principle that a Manager should stay in one club in a longer time. Not that I hope any Manager can stay in one club as long as Sir Alex or Wenger. Not in this modern soccer culture.
But to judge Ancelotti for less than 5 seasons? Hm, I don't think so.
In my opinion, Chelsea is a little late to regenerate their players, not like MU, Arsenal or even Liverpool. They're too much dependent to such player like Lampard, Drogba, Malouda, Cech and even Terry. When these players can't play for injured or banned, then Chelsea will go down.
So my point is, not the manager, but they should renew or add their players.
Any other opinions? :)

I agree that they need more depth in the squad but surely the manager is responsible for gettin players in to add depth and since he hasnt I still think he is to blame.

No Ancelotti should be given a chance. It is the players fault that Chelsea had slump to such low heights. Given that he won their the championship last season, it can be sure that the Italian had what it takes to be a winner. It is time for Roman to open his cheque book and replace the aging stars in the team.

I would say not yet. I think they should give Ancellotti a run till the end of the season at least. If he lands them the Champions League, then the Chelsea fans will not worry about not winning the League or any of the cups. They are in it for the Champions League this season and I think they have qualified for the next round more or less with a 2-0 win in the first leg.
Cheers!

Chelsea need to change their players and not the manager. Chelsea looks disorganized.
Their biggest problem is the midfield where not a single player is capable of creating that killer pass. At least one player should create fear in opposition team's mind. Lampard is not at his best.
Torres is of no use if he doesn't get the pass to convert. Ancelotti is a good manager and Chelsea should stick to him.

IMO, Chelsea is doing what happened to Liverpool 2 seasons ago ( from 2nd place prev season to 6th). My wishful thinking is, they would end up 5th place this year so it will teach Torres who is the "bigger club". I don't know if they need to change their manager, as far as I can remember Ancelotti did a great job after taking over Chelsea 2 or 3 years ago. I'll blame it actually to the teams ageing and not in form players.

I think almost every one agree to reform the player line-up, not to blame the manager. But this just my 2 cents. :)
Hope Torres and David Luiz can save Ancelotti's career. Too bad if he has to move next season.

I don't think so. For me, it's not healthy to change manager too frequent. We can take real madrid as example. They keep on change their manager and it's hard for players to absord different strategy from different manager.
Manchester United still under same manager for very long time that why they are very stable even they sell Ronaldo.
And i think very important part is, Anceloti is one of the best coach in the world. He already proof it last season.

Chelsea has really got a bad period the last 19 matches, with only 7 victories. I have heard that Ancelotti is on the way to Roma, but I don't think Chelsea should change their manager, because we must remmembr that Ancelotti did very well in the beginning of the season. I think Chelsea has to make some changes in their squad, if they want to get better results.
I'm sure they will participate in Europe tournaments next season, but the Champions League is not sure for them anymore.

It's true that Chelsea has a very poor seaon at least in the internal competitions, but we mustn't forget that Carlo Ancelotti brought them the title and the cup last season,he's undoubtedly a very skilled manager and his results with Ac Milan prove it as well,so I think Chelsea's main problem are the players, not the coach, they need massive changes in the summer and I think the manager should not leave,he should stay and try to build a new and stronger team. But,anyway,Chelsea still has a chance to win the Champions League, and I think such a huge achievement would definitely save the season,so I say let's give credit to the manager for the moment.

What i think chelsea needs is a total overhauling of the team. There are a lot of aging players in chelsea. The English league has a lot of young potential players and chelsea has no other option than to move along the trend of the league by signing on some new players and selling off the older ones,
