I am a working mom but I see to it that I could wake up at 4:30am just to cook breakfast and packed lunch for my daughters especially my youngest because her schedule in school is from 7am to 1pm, so she eats her lunch at her room. I would also like to monitor what they eat even if I am at the office.

I don't pack my kids lunch often. They usually buy lunch unless it is something they don't like. Our school serves pretty good lunches. My youngest was packing lunch more because she was new to buying lunch. But one day when I went to the school I saw that they were having the kids that buy lunch sit on one table and then kids that packed sit on the other side of the isle at another table. There was only like a handful of kids that packed so she wasn't getting to know the other kids. So I encouraged her to buy more and she seems happy with that. It's cheaper to to have them buy a lunch for $1 something rather then spend $5 making them one.

Hi. r3corp. I don't prepare lunch for any of my kids for school. All of them have been eating free lunch ever since they have been into school. I think that it is fun, to pack all of the different kinds of foods everyday for your child to eat at lunch time.

That's a good habit, this will eliminate the possibilities that they are eating wrong kinds of food e.g. junk food and those that are contaminated w/ diseases. I have not yet experienced this, but I am on the same path, if my son goes to school I would prepare his snack/lunch too.

my daughter is on the 1st grade, since preschool, we have packed her snack because there was no canteen in her school. but now that she's a 1st grader, she was transferred to a bigger school and the school has a canteen. now she just would like to buy her lunch from the school canteen.
