We all know that many countries now in this world is devastated because of these earthquakes that's happening nowadays. And it's really feels so bad that we have nothing to do with it but to escape to the nearest safe place.
But do we all know why earthquake happens? I'm kinda curious about it. Do you know why?
According on our study before in university.
Earthquakes manifest themselves by shaking and sometimes displacing the ground. When a large earthquake epicenter is located offshore, the seabed sometimes suffers sufficient displacement to cause a tsunami. The shaking in earthquakes can also trigger landslides and occasionally volcanic activity.
Have you experienced the earthquake? How and Where? Share your stories everyone.
By the way, i am back now in myLot, and it feels good to be back.

Argentina is for most parts safe from quakes, so I never lived one really.
It's well know why the quakes happen, it's a combination of tectonic plates movements near the plates limits, when some movement causes a great acommodation of all the earth beneath them. It's also know precisely where they'll happen, precisely in the tectonic plates junctions. What is unknown is the time, it may happen anytime as long as we know.

Earthquakes happen all the time however most of them are quite minor. The cause of course is the movement of the techtonic plates that form the surface of the earth. They ae continuously on the move mostly quite smoothly. However in some places the plates stick together and do not move until the pressure builds up and then they will move suddenly causing a big earthquake. It is all a natural process that has been going on long before humans even existed so we just have to life with it

Fortunately I stay in Singapore.
If Singapore suffers an earthquake, Indonesia and Malaysia will be wiped off from the surface of the Earth.
A flood is considered a big event here.
Once flooding occurs, the insurance companies start to think of billion dollars loss. I cannot imagine what will happen if the country suffers an earthquake.
Since I rarely spend time in earthquake zone, I do not experience much natural disasters.
Hopefully I never have to experience a major natural disaster.

Thanks for the info on earthquakes. I had several experience with earthquakes. The worst was back in 1990. I didn't know what magnitude it was. All I can remember is the tables were shaking, some of the picture frames hanging on the wall dropped, the walls were swaying, it felt like the end of the world. Hell, I was crying that time while my parents and grand ma held me tight while we were under the table.
