As much as I would like to say I would return the wallet and everything in it, I just don't know because the situation has never arose. If they lost it and their ID was in it and I knew I could find them then I would have to say I would be someone to return it to them with all the belongings intact still. I just wouldn't be able to knowingly take from someone who most likely earned that money and probably needs it for something important like rent or other bills.
Now if I found a wallet and there was no information about the owner in it but money in it I would probably take the money. Just being honest.

to be honest . I will open it , see if there is any identification card or phone diary . Call up the person and ask him to come up to collect it . Once we meet, i will verify if the person is the same , open the wallet , take 50% of the money ( of any) and return the wallet !
You see , i will be helpful , but at the same time expect a reward for being the same. The days have changed ... but humanity is important for humans !

Having lost my wallet recently, I think I would first try to find the owner. I think I really lucked out in China. I had just got out of a taxi and paid the guy. I guess my wallet didn't hit my pocket because when I was half way home I noticed it wasn't there. I walked back to where I got out of the cab and by some luck it was still there laying on the ground where it had fallen! I was really surprised no one tried to pick it up because I think I had a couple hundred RMB in it. When I lost my wallet in Chicago (someone walked into my hotel room while I was sleeping), I had lost my driver's license, passport (I was getting ready to leave for China in the morning), and my bank card. I was pretty much stranded so I had to go back home with my brother and try to get all those things replaced so that I could get to my job. Because of my experiences, I would make every effort to find the owner so that they didn't have to replace all their valuables!

Well,if there is no owner at all,i mean AT ALL,you can keep it and make sure you spent every cent in a very good way.
But i have no experience in it,just some 100 pesos :)

Hi,my friend,
It's really hard to decide. But I still would ask for the person around me first. If something they lose.If no one take it.I will go to the police station for help to find the owner of wallet.

I don't spend money that isn't mine. Gladly return it to the owner, at least I'd have a conscience free of guilt. Well as I've said, there is a thing called KARMA.

To be honest it would be a temptation to just keep it as I know if the role was reversed I probably wouldn't get it back but then I would probably start thinking that the person the money belonged to may be in desperate need so I would have to take it to the Police station to try and find the owner.
