You should have taken the kids to have their pic taken without the ex & kept that in your wallet or even cut her out of the pic. You do know that made you look like you are married & lying to her don't you???

We are going to have many different relationships in our lives. Photographs are treasured memories of those relationships. Our past is what defines us. it isn't something we can just sweep under the carpet. Just because we still have a picture of someone that we once loved does not mean we still have those same romantic feelings for them. it is just a picture. it should bring a smile and not pain.

If you were courting the lady with a view to spending your life with her (and she with you), then she would, at some time or another, have to come to terms with the family that you love and with your ex (who you don't). Our past is part of ourselves, mistakes and all, which we try to forget or hide at our own risk and which anyone who accepts us into their lives must accept as integral to us. Perhaps it was a good thing that your relationship with this lady went no further than that dinner, however much you yourself thought that she was 'suitable'.

Oh that's too bad. But you know what, I don't really see why she shouldn't go on a second date with you. I mean, you were still courting her so she isn't your girlfriend yet. I think that your personal life at that moment is none of her business yet. I mean, what was she thinking, that she's the only girl in your life? Each of us has a different history about relationships and stuff. Perhaps if she's already your girlfriend then I guess she would have the right to be jealous that you're still keeping a picture of your ex, but until then, I think she should just leave your personal life to you. That's just my opinion though...

Ouch that is so painful. Even if you displayed without an emotion to your ex. Still for me it doesn't look good. Well I am single parent and surely those memories including the pics, letters, notes and eveything has been bury under 6 ft ground. I have not experience such things. Sorry but you need to play it safe sometimes. It would have been better to have those kids pics than with your ex wife with kids on it.

I have done that same mistake with my husband. We were newly wed then. He found a picture of my ex BF inside my wallet. Actually I didnt remember at all that I still have a picture of my ex kept inside. So to calm my furious husband I had to rip it up in front of him.

I never got into a situation like this. And I think that this is not going to happen to me even. I do not keep pictures inside my wallet. I just do not see the point of doing so. Pictures wear off when they are in your wallet and we have phones now. I think that it is better to store your photos on to your phone. With regards to the girl you mentioned, I think that she is being unreasonable. You had a relationship with that girl that you have a photo of in your wallet and she needs to respect that. Sometimes, we just need to keep something to remember a good memory. Take care.
