Libya in conflict, Muammar Gaddafi would be stay or step down?

if you following the story about politic situation in Libya, there is a big demonstration requiring the recent president Muammar Gaddafi to step down.
but the president refuse to step down, he said that he will stay until the last blood.
in your opinion, can you guess the end of the story? do you think Muammar Gaddafi would be stay or step down later?

Yeah I guess it is just sad that people who stayed in power the longest time would want to stay in power for life. I think he has the thinking of a monarchy there and plans to stay there for good. I just wish he would step down and transfer the power to the people who much deserves to rule the land.
