Are High Yield Income Programs (HYIP) real?

I have come across some websites that try to assure web surfers that if they invest in their program, they will receive a certain percentage interest together with the amount invested. My Question is , How real are these program

Yes they are real but only for those that started it. They'll earn more but the downlines won't. I've seen a lot of these and I wouldn't invest a cent on those.

Yeah, they are real SCAM!!!... Will you believe me if i said "Give your money to me and i will give it back 150% to you after 24 hours", this is really funny

You'd be better to just put $10 away a month into a bank account and just withdraw nothing and let it grow on interest than going for a HYIP. They rarely pay out, they're basically ponzi or pyramid scams. They just collapse.
