I go to Eureka Springs every summer for 3 weeks. My boyfriends mother lives there and we take his daughter who is in England and comes to visit us. She lives way up in the Mountains.
I love it, for vacationing that is, she is such a nice lady and when I go to visit she will take me just about anywhere to sight see, most enjoyable part of our summer visits with her.
Also I exercise every day at home, so going there I will not have my equipment, so I get up each day and hike for 30 - 45 minutes, sure makes for great exercise. We did were not able to go last summer as we traditionally go yearly. So this year in August we will be going for a month.

HI baress,
I climb mountains whenever the opportunity comes. Our town has a lot of mountainous terrain and I have been to the top to most of them. I used to hunt wild game there, alone or with a buddy, usually on weekends. My most memorable trips always occurs on night hunting trips for the challenges are almost insurmountable. Nowadays, I have sold my rifle for an upgrade and how I missed those times then.
Of course, we don't pass the opportunity to plant a tree or two before we leave the place, just a sort remembrance for our being there. Who knows, we may go that way again to be greeted by the shade of that tree we had planted. I may yet acquire my new rifle and those tree seedlings I had in my backyard may find a new home again.

In my younger days I liked to walk along the White Cliffs of Dover. I had energetic sorts of walks in the countryside. On my travels I have climbed up a mountain in Norway, a mountain in Australia called Mount Warning and a mountain in New Zealand. I have visited mountainous destinations like Switzerland and Austria. Now I have a disabled son that is a wheelchair user I need to stay in flat ground. I am not able to climb anymore mountains in the future because I have to care for my son.

Hi. baressi43. I have never climbed a mountain in my life. I don't think that I ever will to. I am afraid of heights. I don't like to be on top of anything that is too high. Put me on a flat surface and you may have a deal. But if it is high, no way!! Enjoy your trip!

My work brought me to a place that is surrounded by mountains. There are 8 mountains within a 30 minute ride. Unfortunately, I still wasn't able to climb any because I don't have the basic equipments to hike. Hopefully this April I can buy some basic stuff so that I can join the group that will climb Mount Natib.

I tried climbing mountains once but it was not so good. I am 30 kilos over my ideal weight and I had so much with me in my bag, I never thought that it will be that hard. The friends that I was with were lean and are basically healthy. As we were just starting climbing, my heart was pounding so hard. It was just so steep for me to take. My knees were meeting up with my chest the most of the time. It was really tough and so I decided not to push through and just let them go on with their adventure. Now, I am planning on shedding some pounds so that I could do it again. I am so looking forward for it.

I love mountains but i find them difficult climbing. Anyway I climb them sometimes while on vacation with friends. I am usually the last one to reach the top lol anyway it's a good exercise and I enjoy doing it once in a while.
