I heard this from the television before. That the good singers (those who can really sing) are in youtube while the not so good ones are out there in showbusiness. Post your video on the internet and boom, you're an instant celebrity and before you know it, you've reached a million hits and an agent wants to sign you up.
A Filipina living in Canada, Maria Aragon, 11 years old, posted her rendition of Lady Gaga's new hit Born this way on youtube. She was an instant hit. Even Lady Gaga saw this and tweeted that "this is why i make music. she is the future." she even said that she cried by just watching this video. The rest, for Maria Aragon, is history. She's been invited by Lady Gaga to perform with her on her concert in Toronto. In a radio interview where Maria Aragon was asked to guest, a live phone patch was done with Lady Gaga. The little girl cried when she realized she was talking to Lady Gaga over the phone. They even did a duet on air. And now the girl's on the Ellen show! Things really turned out good for this girl.
Well number one, she can really sing good. And not just a person who can sing or carry a note. This one's really good. She has talent. Number 2, OMG she got invited by Lady Gaga herself! Couldn't get any better than that!
Youtube and myspace have been the outlet of people with something to showcase. Many have been discovered through this media... They dont have the necessary connections or parents that can get them into the singing business like others. But they can really sing.

You're right. Some on the showbusiness have no talent at all. They just discovered it because they are pretty or handsome and even like a model. But no talent at all. Some have, but they're like trying hard and even go to a workshop to improve.Unlike the ones that get discovered in youtube, they have talent to show and when they sang or dance,it's really good.Thumbs up to youtube anyway.

I think youtube helps a lot for those talented people specially the singers to let themselves be seen on the web and eventually be exposed to talent scouts. A big example here is the new journey vocalist Arnel Pineda who happens to upload his own video singing one of journey's song and now look where he is. I think its not true that most singers in the youtube are more talented than those on the show business. It just happens that there so many people uploading videos of themselves in youtube.

I will have to check her out an hear her sing. There have certainly been a lot of people who have gained fame by being discovered on Youtube. I think that it is really cool that people have a way to get noticed these days. I am going to go an see if I can find that Youtube video now. I am really curious about this girl now.

The sad thing however is that its not always the best singers that are the most successful on you tube you just have to look at rebecca black. Not that i have got anything personal agaisnt her i just think there are more talented performers on you tube who are more deserving of that sought of number of views.

I agree with you. There are a lot of talents in YouTube, even more talented than those we see on TV or the ones in Hollywood/entertainment business. YouTube is a really great outlet for so many talented people, and it has helped a lot of people become famous and rich and so many more success stories that stem out from YouTube. I even think that talent agencies nowadays look into YouTube in search for those talented people. And some companies even hire them to promote their products. Michelle Phan for example, who I believe is the Number One Make-up Guru in YouTube, started out doing make-up tutorials way back 2 years ago. Now, she's one of the spokesperson of Lancome, and the first one to reach 1,000,000 subscribers. Each of her videos gain a million plus views. She's really talented and also down to earth. And these talents also serve as an inspiration for the rest of us. It tells us that with dedication and hardwork, we can reach our goals and fulfill our dreams, no matter how small we started out.

Myspace music is also a good source for good music, Just randomly check some artist there.I also follow some good youtube artist, most of them are acoustic artist and soem of them are bands. I know mainstreme music is full of trash and corruption while underground music is pure love and dedication,

I agree that there are a lot of terrific new up and coming singers posted on youtube. i don't necessarily believe they are the best in the world. Their videos are definitely checking out. You never know when a star is born and you might have been the first to see it.

I agree. Thank you to you tube. One thing I noticed also is that most of the good singers are younger. They can be called kids even. I just hope that since they are now being recognized, they should not be deceived by the promises of showbiz. I have nothing against it but there are still kids. There are so many things that they can do that they can no longer can under the spotlight. I think that it would be nice to have some people admiring your work but your privacy will be compromised. It is good to be talked about, but in the long run, they will not be just talking about the talent that you have. They will consider things other than that especially the things that may show negativity on your part.
