Golf Fitness

I have only played golf for about a year now. Doing fairly well, but just not getting the distance I want. My 5 iron is about 175, but I am 5'7" 145 lbs. Does anyone have a training regimen that could help me gain distance?

The most important fitness to have for golf is a very strong core. 2 years ago I started to get very serious with working out, did a lot of core training and saw a huge improvement on my swing and distance.
