how do you get people to view your discussions?

i have no idea, this more of a question to you guys and then well get everybody to discuss it.
i thought one way is having some intresting titles, like i dunno, what do people like these days that grabs their intrests =P.

That has been a recurring thought for me. But unless we have a very extensive profiling of myLot members, it's really hard to pinpoint the exact topics that grab their interests. What I've noticed is that serious topics usually get lesser responses than topics concerning everyday life. I mean, trivial things far make for a better discussion than politics, economics or even religion. I post topics that interests me, and not whether they interest other people. I post them to see if there are others who share my same viewpoints or not.
