I don't think I did. I am 20 years old and I feel that I should be doing more in my life. I'm about to graduate and I just feel that I've missed out on my youth since I focus so much on school. Did you enjoy your youth? Is 20 too old to be and act "young"? What should a typical 20 year old be doing in this time of her life? Thank you mylotters!

Your getting married? Wow congratulations. I guess that is the most important thing, following and doing what makes you happy.

Well people does say when you look back you are always sorry for something so you will miss something anyway . But its not a problem . Well i'm 21 and all i do is live far away from the city (almost alone) work online and loose my time over computer games and chat with friend cuz that is my only connection to the people for now . But i'm not sorry and even if i am one day i will know that i enjoyed my youth , and thats far best for me . I don't like crowded places and a lot of people on one place . Lets say 20 year old must do what makes him/her happy to do , but still got to concentrate on the important thing for living at the same time - study and work . Its always time for everything .

We have something in common. I too don't like being surrounded by so many people. Most of my friends say I'm a hermit but sometimes I just don't like interacting with people. I guess I did enjoy my youth more than I thought. Just because I did not get drunk and threw up on side walks does not mean I did not enjoy it. Thank you for your answer.

Personally that can be an issue these days, but at the same time in order to get anywhere really in life if you can concentrate and finish your schooling and education while you are younger it can help give you a better job, and time to do more in the future. I often wished I could have been able to finish with more schooling myself when I was younger as now I could never dream of doing it all over again for sure.

It's just scary for me to think that there are just somethings that I can no longer do because I'm no longer that young. I like what my Psychology teacher told us before when i was still a freshman. She told us to concentrate on school while we are young and go wild and party after we graduate. Thank you for your answer.

I don't think at 20 you'd truly regret not enjoying your youth. You're still young. By 30, that's the time you could look back and see whether you really had missed out a lot when you were young. School is part of your youth life. For me, when you begin to work for a living, having to pay for all the things you need - house rent, food, your car - then that's the time that your youth life sort of turns a new page. And all the things you've done in your youth are experiences you'll carry with you when you face the challenges of the so called real world. So what do typical 20-year-old people do? They enjoy life! :)

I really like this answers. That problem with me is I will be on my own next year so I will be paying for everything. I just hope I will not be one of the pink skirt wearing 40 year old who can't let go of their youth. Thank you for your answer.

Yes and I'm still enjoying it.I enjoy spending most of my time with my friends no matter if we all want to study together in exam time or go out to have some fun.Focusing on career isn't bad,it's our need but at the same time you should enjoy every moment in life what you are having right now. You'll never be younger than you are at this very moment.Plus, who knows about tomorrow!?!

I guess so. I'm just scared that at 20, it's now too late to start living my life. Thank you for your answer though. Happy mylotting.

There's nothing wrong with being a child at heart. I for one am childlike. Guess I didn't enjoy my youth that much. Had to study, read, read and read. I didn't even enjoy playing much when I was young. There are points in my life that made my childhood unhappy. When my parents fight. sigh...hate to remember those times...

I will be forever young at heart. I'm actually acting older than I am so I don't know how will that play out in the future. I too have horrible childhood memories but there are also a lot of good ones. I guess time is really gold. thank you for your answer.

Well all things considered, it could have been better, but it really could have been worse. Then again, youth is something that is really in the eyes of the beholder. Some times youth ends in our teenage years. Other times, youth can go on way into our thirties and early forties. I think I might still have a bit of youth left in me, although I've matured and grown a lot. There are things that I might have done differently but life is like that.

Dear tessa9, when i was young i didn't focus on school, instead, i went out with my friends, did a lot of fun and traveled abroad. when i reached the age of 20 i was also unsetisfied with my accomplishments and thought that i should have achived more to my age. today, at the age of 28, looking back to my past, i would have change my actions if i could and focus on school as much as possible and then do all the "fun" stuff. Basicly, i"m saying that there is time for everything in life and don't feel like you missed anything because you are still young and you have your whole future ahead of you.

I have the same feelings as yours, I'm already 25 yrs. old I never enjoyed my youth because my parents are so strict and they always want me to focus on my studies, they don't want me to go out with friends and having a boyfriend is really a big no. Now I'm already a CPA, I'm working in an audit firm as a senior accountant. But I'm not happy with life, I always feel that there's something lacking, it's all about my youth days which I haven't enjoyed. For now, I tried so much go to out with friends but sometimes I got hurt deep inside if one of my friends will start to discuss some topics about their youth and how happy they are. How I wish I could undo my past!
