preconceived ideas keep a strong hold

There is a fair amount of truth in what you say, but it does not always hold true. I always tended to prefer the original version of a pop song and I agree that it never sounded right when sung by another artist. In contrast to this I am a great lover of opera, so it is irrelevant who I first heard a part performed by and I judge each performance purely on merit. I find the same applies to contemporary ballads and Neapolitan serenades. I always make a concerted effort not to prejudge a person by my first encounter with them. I am old enough to have discovered how easy it is to be mistaken by doing so. As for others prejudging me, there is nothing that I can do about it, so I find it prudent to simply accept the fact as inevitable.

Guilty as charged! When it comes to both movies and music , the first version usually is my favorite. But sadly Sometimes My Original isn't The original but I usually stick with my version. it is the first version I get to love so to me it is special but... I have Heard a remake that I loved more. and I have seen a few remakes that I like either as much as my first or even more. As for love, what I saw as my first love wasn't real love. My current love is The Real thing . My guy I will always consider my first love. my first And Last.

I do not agree with you completely. Yes, the first impression is the best impression but that done not hold good always. There is always next time. As for singing you have mentioned, if a second person sings better than the first singer, definitely he/she will be appreciated. If you do a mistake first time and do not do it in the future, the thought on you that you do mistakes always does not arise. It is the time which matter. The more time you get involved with a person it is better.

For me, first impressions doesn't always last. Me, for example. Been having comments like I'm so snobbish, not approachable..some even character assassinated me. etcetera etcetera :) When they get to know me they'd realize that they were wrong. And I love the look in their face when theyy realized that. lol
