here in my country it seems like everyone is into nursing. recent board exam results revealed that only 35% of all those who took the nursing licensure exam made it. if one works as a nurse, he or she must undergo a training in which one is paid as much as 150php per day (less than 4 USD). Working condition may not be good. Insurance also known as health hazard fee is only worth a hundred pesos (philippine currency) for the whole month. Training maybe good since nurses has had always the chance to meet the clientele.. is nursing profession going down?

I don't think the nursing profession is, as you put it, going down. I think the quality of education given by some nursing schools is deteriorating. I feel that it has become more of a business for these schools rather than being a learning institution. So a lot of nursing students graduate but can't pass the licensure examinations. I guess I'm one of those who believes that when a student fail, the teacher failed to teach the student :)

nursing school has become a business. Nursing Schools kept their eyes close when in comes to screening students. Clinical Teachers or nurse educators are not given the chance to attend seminars outside of school, thinking that the soon would leave the school due to added achievements. Students were allowed to pass although they didn't make it in school.. school administration tries to keep the students in although they are not doing well.. its business. Students in the end suffers. at the end of their four years in college, board exam is serve as their best test.

I believe nurses should be very highly paid, it is logical to me that certain jobs that are very much needed should be paid well to encourage more people into that profession, nursing is an essential profession, should be paid well.

its very ideal to give nurses a better or best pay but the companies don't see that as a necessity. it would mean the company earning less.
