Maybe it's me but, have you noticed that a couple of the major car manufacturers are bringing back some of the old muscle cars?
For instance: The Charger, Camero, and the Mustang have been around now for a few years. The Challenger was recently introduced...last year's Mustang GT...and now new for this year...the resurgence of the 1969 Boss 302 Mustang, with the initial "R" added to it's famous racing stripe.
Do you suppose that the slump in car sales is somehow linked to the newer shapes and designs...and that perhaps, the dealers/manufacturers have picked up on this? I do.
Also, do you think as I do...that these newer shapes & designs DON'T really appeal to buyers, therefore...the "Big 3" have decided to revamp and bring back the excitement, buy re-introducing cars that had us all stand up and take notice?
I think the Big 3 have, and in an effort to stimulate the American/World economy, they know that these types of cars were major sellers way back when...so, why not now?
I miss my Trans AM, I know that. Frankly, I couldn't figure WHY GM made the Camero, but NOT the Trans Am????? And what ever happened to that great looking Impala? Station wagons? Cars that LOOKED like cars? Family sedans that didn't have to be a van? etc., etc., etc.
Do you think eventually that we'll be seeing more of these types of vehicles being re-introduced?
I do.
What's your take on it?

An Ambassador? Wow!
Those cars have not been made over here, since the 1970's.
A great class of car. I would love to see a picture of it. You can use my personal E-mail address for that if you like.
Here in Canada, we do not use LPG fuel. My guess is that our government hasn't caught on to that idea yet. They are more concerned now with the selling of electric hybrids...part gasoline, part electricity. Sales of these types of vehicles are not very high, due to the fact that the cars can only go so far on an electrical charge, before recharging...and that can take anywhere from up to 8-12 hours. People in Canada are used to gasoline engines, and most men can usually fix them themselves, since auto mechanics is still taught to young boys in several high schools, to this day. Only a handful of women get interested in becoming mechanics.
So, the idea of driving an electric automobile has not really caught on. I would imagine that, even if Canada were to offer LPG vehicles, most people would still rather drive a gasoline vehicle instead. Gasoline auto manufacturers are counting on this, and by "re-inventing" some of the old classics, it gives them leverage as a sure fire way to play on people's emotional nostalgia, thereby increasing their sales.
Mind you, the gasoline engines of today are much more fuel efficient, and burn a lot cleaner since many of the harmful toxins gasoline produces, have been removed.
Cheers Kalyani;
So nice to hear from you.

Well, I wouldn't call myself an expert,
but at least I know a nice looking design,
when I see it.
I think for this reason alone, that's why they're
bringing back some of these older models.
They know that these cars were big sellers way back when,
and therefore, they should appeal to customers again,
and hopefully help them to increase sales.
