Few days ago, I heard my 2 cats sneezing. I wanna help them but I don't know what medicine to give them. I don't have budget to take them to the vet. I know many of you here have experience this already. So maybe you could help me. What king of medicine can I give them. Is it okay to give them cecon (vitamin C) or neozep. Neozep is used by human that has cough and cold. Is it okay if I give them small amount of those medicine. Do you know any other thing I should do.

Do not give a cat any medicine that is intended for human use. Things that are all right for us can be extremely toxic to a cat. Cats sneeze for different reasons and it does not necessarily mean that they are ill. If they are sneezing all the time, (there may also be a discharge from the nose) they most likely have got a virus. Such an infection is not serious, and requires no treatment - it will clear up in a few days.

compleatly agree DO NOT EVER use human medication on an animals i have seen to many animals die from this and simple things such as putting polisporn on a cut. Unless there is discharge from the eyes/nose I would not be overly concerned if there is discharge and it continues for several days they could have upper respatory which you will need to then find the money to see a vet. Many shelters and humane society offer low cost vetting for pets if it is nessasary and you are not in a position to see a regular vet

Please don't give your cat any human medication without checking with a vet first. That's very important!
Are your cats only sneezing? Are they sneezing nonstop, any mucus, does it sound to you like they are wheezing when they are breathing?
If they just sneezed a few times throughout the day and there isn't any mucus or wheezing going on, I would just wait it out. Is it cold in the house, if so, make sure they're in a warm place. Are they eating & drinking normally?
My cat went through several days of sneezing constantly throughout the day. She was still eating and drinking normally and didn't have any mucus or signs of wheezing. After several days, the sneezing just stopped on it's own. It could have been a cold, it could have been something in the air that she was allergic to.
You can almost always call a local vet's office for advice for free. If your cats do need to be seen, some vets will let you make payments on the bill as well, so make sure you ask before making the appointment.

they are sneezing most of the time. when they are eating I hear something from their mouth. I think they have mucus. But they are eating normally but don't drink much even before they don't have cold. They are not sick because they're behavior doesn't change. I cannot take them to the vet. I don't have budget and also I don't know any vet here since in our place, you seldom see breeded pet. My cats don't have breed and I can't afford to take them to vet but I wanna help them.

Hi, angelbelle - I have had many cats, and the latest one I had, coughed sometimes. I read somewhere that honey would help.
So how do you make a cat eat honey..??
It is soo easy. Take a little honey on your finger and spread it on the cat´s front paw. You can be sure the cat licks it off!!Yup, cats want to be clean!!
This helped for my cat and very quickly too! I hope it helps your cats too!

Whatever you do, don't give them any PEOPLE medications!!! You could kill your cats!!!! First, are your cats eating? If it is a cold or the flu the cats will go off their feed. If they can't smell the food they won't touch it. Is there any discharge from their nose or eyes? With a cold or flu there will be discharge and it will be kind of thick and milky rather than clear. My cats will sneeze if there is a lot of wind or dust in the air. Also if there is a lot of plants in bloom releasing pollins into the air. Have you started using a new cleaning fluid, cologne, deoderant, room air freshener, fabric softener,or cat litter? It could be an allergy to something in what you're using around the house.
If they are still eating well, using the litter box and behaving pretty much normally then just watch them. If you allow them outside keep them inside and watch them. Also make sure they are warm and comfortable. Keep in mind that if your cats are really sick the first thing that happens is that they won't eat. Otherwise watch their stools for worms, and if they start vomiting check to see if there are wads of hair in the vomit (this is another time not to panic as it's simply hair balls and cats get those all the time.) it's hair balls. If they aren't pooping regularly then give them a bit of vaseline or oil to help things move.
Without further information, I can't really tell you a lot, but never never give a cat human medications. Human medications are formulated in such a manner that nearly everything in them can kill a cat. Also vitamin C isn't something you should give a cat, it too could kill them. If you are concerned about them getting enough vitamins, buy vitamins formulated for cats.

Cats have cold? How do u tell, if they are just sneezing? I think u need not do anything because they should know how to treat themselves. After all they are animals, and they have some basic survival instinct in them. I dun think u can feed them medicines that we are eating because it might be too strong for them, and it would kill them than help them
