Hello Friends,
I got a Mac book couple of months back.. the apple store rep told that the battery backuo of Mac is 10hrs in ideal condition but when I use them for just the browsing purpose it gives max of 8.5 to 9 hrs.. but when I play games or watch movie it will lesser than that.
When I started using it I realized that even when I was not browsing and used it for basic excel and word work the backup was only for 4 to 4.5 hrs, when I went to the service center they told that the battery has to be changed due some error.. even after that the backup does not last even for 7 complete hours..
Has anyone facing similar issue.. what is your thought..

I have a MacBook white, and the battery usually lasts 2 hours. Apple always says batteries last longer than they actually do, so you should always consider this when buying a computer.
However, even though it's not a problem for me - I simply connect my mac to the charger when I have to - there are some minor improvements that might give you an extra 30 minutes of battery life.
Have you dimmed the screen and reduced the volume? Also, make sure there aren't unnecessary processes running on your mac, and have a look to the Preferences, in the Energy Saver section.
If you've already done all these things, I'm afraid you'll have to accept that the actual autonomy of your Mac is lower than you expected (if it can make you feel better, it lasts far more than mine!)

Hi vasuqi, I dont have an Apple Mac Book pro but something similar(hitachi) for my laptop. I notice that none of them perform as promised. Mine too was supposed to give a maximum of 6 hours of backup but gives just about 4 hours or may be a little longer. I have not of course tested it often since I never got an opportunity to use it that long. I wonder why they need to make such false claims and then give excuses for its poor performance - have a nice weekend
