I am in chronic pain and depressed. Dr gave me Cymbalta samples. I am worried about side effects.

I take it wfor chronic nerve pain, which also causes secondary depression. I noticed the first few weeks, while I was taking it at night, that I had more trouble sleeping at night, than normal. So I started taking it in the morning. I felt spaced out, like I couldn't focus. I waited for the stomach side effects, but never got them. Although I also take Prilosec, so that may have helped. At one point I was on 120 mg daily because my nerve painwas SO bad. I am now down to 60 mg. It definitely helps my nerve pain, but I'm not sure what it does for my automimmune pain.

I do have the nerve pain and the inflammation really bad. I stopped initially after a day or two but I may start again soon. I am really in a lot of pain. Maybe I did not give it enough of a chance.

When I first started taking cymbalta, I felt tired and nauseated for almost the whole first month. Then I started taking it with a glass of milk before bed and that helped ease the symptoms. They went away eventually, when my body adjusted to the meds. If you don't like it don't make the mistake I made the first time they put me on it. I just stopped taking them and the withdrawals were horrible. They say everyone doesn't experience it the same way, but I don't know. Thats just what happened to me. And Cymbalta didn't really help me much with my pain or depression, but my body is just weird I guess.

I took the first one last night. Not sick yet. Hope it helps me. Didn't sound like you had much luck.
