Maybe because i usually have a long week and less sleep, I tend to sleep like a log during weekends. I woke up 5 hrs ago, had lunch and as i am using mylot, i'm getting drowsy. I don't like sleeping during the daytime so mom prepared me a nice cup of coffee. Coffee really helps me =D
I do enjoy sleeping but sometimes think that sleep is my enemy. I sleep so well that even when i try to have a siesta, I can't wake up. How do you feel?? Same problems??

wow. maybe something is wrong? or are you pregnant? kiding
well i do avoid siesta because i do not like the feeling of waking up after, gives me headache and makes me grumpier. But i love sleep, but only night's sleep and i am not really a heavy sleeper, i tend to wake up easily and maybe its due to the fact that i had 3 kids and my body got used to sleeping lightly.

For me this tends to happen a lot. Especially on Sundays when I have to get up earlier to go to Church, etc. It always makes for a good excuse to be able to take a nap later as well. I think part of it is since we do not have our normal jobs, etc. to go too and keep us busy we get lax and so the sleep fairy comes and tries to get us sleepy as well.

It happened to me also some years ago to feel like sleeping a lot in weekends. I think it has something to do with stress and chronic fatigue. Now that I don't have a job as an employee any more, this changed. I don't need so much sleep anymore. In general, I need 8 hours a sleep each night and if this is not accomplished, I feel like sleeping in the afternoon to catch up. Every person has a minimum necessary time for sleeping and it depends on the organism power to recuperate, age, certain health problems and so on.

Hi thatgirl!
I guess your body is just trying to cope because you usually get less sleep. Does that scary movie you have in one of your discussions have to do with this getting less sleep also?
I also have experienced this and still experiencing it. During weekends I sleep a lot for long hours. There are times I just wake up, eat and then sleep again. I guess it helps because I feel ready and energized again for the next weekdays.

It seems to me: You work hard during the week, spending a lot of energy. So...at the weekend, your system takes advantage of the free time to catch up on rest, and do necessary reparations. So even though you sleep well at night, you will feel sleepy during the day at the week end. And should you lie down, your system will grab all the rest it can. Some people need lots of sleep; like me. Others can survive on very little. I sometimes wish I had more energy on less sleep; but I have reached a juncture when I need a lot of sleep, and don't have much energy. When I was younger, I could survive on much less. The least I had one night was a single hour!

Hi. thatgirl13. I woke up around late six this morning. I was still feeling tired and drowsy. I think that it had to do with me getting up out of my sleep all this morning. I did not sleep so well at all. I hope that you will be able to get some more rest today.

Yes I am the same as the body can only take so much. During the week after staying up for so many lengthy hours I tend to be a bit too tired on weekends also. Especially after a meal as that is the time I have sat down and it is like it catches up with my body.
Take it a bit easy, maybe a walk to get some fresh air and maybe get to bed at a reasonable time today so tomorrow won't be so tiring. That is what I do when I get this way.

I love sleep too and the fact is that I can't get enough time to sleep except the Sunday morning. So, every Sunday I won't get up until my body does have got enough sleep. It's so great a feeling to sleep as long as you wish.
Since you also usually have a long week, you should try to sleep more in the weekend. After lunch, we always have a nap for the afternoon's energy. So, maybe you feel a little sleepy is normal. Why not try to have a sleep again, after five hours being aware? LOL. It sound a little funny to sleep so much, but your body is telling your the truth.
Know what, I don't have a siesta as usual in the weekend, because I have got enough sleep in the morning. But still I will feel drowsy for a short period after lunch time. It will be okay after some time, for example, after drinking a cup of coffer as you.
Good weekend~~~

I used to have all kinds of sleeping disorders, but today i have all the answers for these problems and i have a good sleep and a good feeling during daytime without getting sleepy.
first of all i recommend you to have some general blood tests because that may be your problem and it can be easily solved.
i also recommend you to eat a light supper like salad or a sandwhich and not rice or meat because it can easily exhaust you.
also, from my experience, if you sleep more then 7 or 8 hours at night it will make you feel tired during the day.
i hope you will take my advice because it defenitly helped me.

Hey thanks for the advises and your time for responding. I should consider going for a blood test, and thanks for that coz i didn't know it. I eat meat and rice almost everyday. Well i think I should be cutting the amount of the intake of those too. Thanks again. Have a good day..
