I doubt it. Yes Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony are a one of the best 1-2 punches in the league, or they will be at the least as their just too good by themselves. Ok, I just complimented them but they both already have bad knees even though their still nba superstars. I've heard Anthony has bad knees from the channel ESPN and hes too early in his career to be having this problem. Stoudemire if you remember took over a season to come back from a really bad knee injury and I just don't see the effects of that going away. I still think they have a shot to win a title but I would still go with either the Celtics or Heat this year if I was going to choose a team in the East.

me either.i dont see the knicks winning a title this year.they may win a first round series but deeper into the playoffs is a big question.i like to see the heat getting the title this year but i want one more for the celtics.hopefully a the lakers-celtics rivalry will be revived again this year..

I think that they cannot win a championship this season.I would give them a chance next season if they sign Chris Paul and bring another defensive big man to manned the paint that would help Amare. For this season, they would fall down in the first round I guess.

Their defense isn't as good as the offence. and the substitute lineup is too weak to save previous times to rest for the star players. The way Knicks plays must be enjoyable from the angle of the spectator, and also have a good chance to enter the playoff. But it's too early to take about the champion except they get a power center.

They are definitely playoff contenders but not for the title yet. I believe they still need a center who can actually bang bodies with the big guys of the west. Look at Boston, they have their Big 3 but it still not enough to overcome Kobe and the rest of the Lakers. If they can get a bruiser who can play defense and grab rebounds for them so Amare and Melo can focus on offense, then they have a good chance.
