I'm not sure what to call them, I tend not to pay attention but sometimes I can't help but laugh. I transferred to a new pad almost two years now and ever since I got there I always notice my couple neighbor who lives right beside my door to own what I used to have. At first I thought it was just me noticing it but one time my house help gave me those comments. They were living on that compound ahead of us. First when i got there the lawn beside my unit is too grassy and so my yaya and me cleaned and planted vegetables. Our neighbor did the same thing after a week. I purchased an air bed and they also had it after a week, the same exact thing as what I bought. Then I bought a new laptop, a month after they had the same exact thing!!! The wife of our neighbor goes to my pad once in a while and says hi or chats with me, i use to offer some drinks and invites her inside. It's just funny because everytime I have something new i would expect that they will also acquire the same thing. It's not negative though, its just funny. Have you ever experience that? Or you're the other way around. =)

Ooh, that's eerie. Reminds me of the movie Single White Female. The next thing you know, your neighbor will dress the same way you do and sport the same hairstyle you have :) But no, I haven't experienced anything like that. Nor am I the type who do everything my neighbor does. On the contrary, I prefer being first to own something. If my neighbor bought a new car, I'll buy a new SUV. Haha! :)

Hahaha.. Nice one! Yeah, i try not to get annoyed. It's just ridiculous and to think these two are couples, they act like teenagers. Hmmm.. that gives me an idea.. evil laugh

Hi. dheckerz. I have noticed this behavior in my sister and in my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law would go out and get almost the same thing that I would have. When I told her that I used Dove Soap, she went out and bought this same kind of soap. Before I met my husband, she was using Ivory Soap for the longest. She claimed that her oldest daughter was the one that told her about this soap. Then again, she also bought a pocket book that was very similar to mines. She told me that she wanted me to see something that she had. And, when I came into her bedroom, to my surprise she had almost the same exact purse that I had too!!! Call this a rare coincidence! So, from all of this, I started to change up the color and the size of my purses. I would buy something that I knew that she would not buy. I stopped leaving things behind for her to see. That way, she would not waste her time trying to copy what I had. My sister on the other hand, just want the same thing that I have. Like as far as where I live at. I told her that she does not want to stay out here where I am living at. The Landlord is iffy and she pulls dishonest numbers on her tenants. With a neighbor like you have, you just will have to be secretive about what you bring in and out of your home. Buy things at night and cover it up so that they won't see what you have. With someone that gets the same thing that you always will have, I will start to question them profusely. Hopefully, my hypothesis does not suggest that they are obsessed.

Though these people aren't my neighbors, but rather other members of my family, I do tend to notice the same thing when it comes to my brother and sister-in-law. My little sister bought a blu-ray player last year and then they needed to have one. Hubby and I bought a new television and then they needed to have a new television. Last Friday I went with my little sister to get a new laptop for her and we were over at their house on Sunday. They were talking about buying a new laptop as soon as their tax money comes in.

I have never had neighbors like that, but I have had friends like that, which is a bit weird as well.

"keeping up with the jones's" That is really funny. I guess they need to see that someone they trust has it first. I haven't had neighbors like this, but I do have a good friend from school that has to buy everything that I get. It makes me laugh because he doesn't need the things he gets, he just doesn't want to feel that I can afford things be can't.
