Have you ever asked mylot to solve a problem for you?

This post should start with a happy icon. Or maybe another one aimed at Alex.
One of my posts was deleted yesterday "the reach of money", where I meant to start a discussion about charity and help. I didn´t think that it was against the rules as it wasn´t the kind of "please donate to..." post. Anyway, I reached Alex at his moderator tower and asked him to reread it.
He first answered a lovely letter saying he would and today he proceed to replace it.
I want to thank mylot and Alex here, but I also hope that this discussion is read by so many newbies that worry about posts deleted. There is a possibility that you appeal. But please, don´t spam. First read the rules again and check your discussion.
Have you had this experience here at mylot? What did you do and how did it come out? Mine had a fairly tale ending. Yours? Share

I'm glad they did that for you. I have had a few discussions deleted, but I didn't worry about it. There was one that I thought would be deleted and it wasn't. Oh well. For me, it isn't that important. Have a great day!

It took me a minute to realize what you were talking about with the signature question. I will be signing the papers when I go for an appointment next week. Thanks for asking.

You have other priorities Debbie. How is the signature of the papers going? I have had posts deleted, but this one was worth fighting for.

Hiya margi,
No not yet at least from my part. I have written in discussion that have been deleted and then I found out myself why afterwards. More careful now than before. I have my own system going to try and avoid doing this. Chatina it´s my little secret Just pulling your leg a little here. I do have my own system though but I think it´s the same as everyone else´s really.
Now that is nice to get yours back in again good on yer gal. Five Stars for you.

Hi dear lovinangelinstead! I think there has to be some reason for which our discussions are being deleted! If we read carefully the FAQs and the rule and regulations we come to know about these things! Getting know about this and trying to avoid these mistakes is the Key to the success,I believe! Thanks !

I know there are subjects I should not speak about. But this one took me by surprise and there are topics that are "borderline"

Hiya AKR & Margi,
Well yes I know too but I try to keep away from those very strong ones and borderline ones if I can. I know that you only post in places like I do as I always see you around well you mostly margi.
AKR you are right but again seeing as I don´t have much time to start my own discussions really I do read through a lot if I have time and see what the general conversation is and if I don´t like it much I back out.
I like to respond to lighthearted things if I can but I have responded to heavier things as well I have to be brave sometimes. But you know you cannot always know whether you are going to upset someone or not. You can make a perfectly innocent remark and someone can take it really funny. Also you never know who might take it funny so it´s all in the game really. Take care now have a great Weekend.xxx

Oh Yes dear marguicha! Like many a times I told on this forum that I am one of the oldest members on this forum, who is here almost since the time of its inception, I am taking privilege to quote the incidence which occurred about 4 years back or even more than that or so!
When I have opened my paypal account, my name was not tallying with my bank account in India and my first payment about $18 was released by Mylot and it was deposited in my account.but having realised the problem I have decided to open another fresh account in the paypal where I could have my name entered which is same as the one I have on my Indian bank account. So I requested Mylot to accept the payment back from my account and the same be resend to my new account which would be opened soon!
Then having rejected the payment from my old paypal account, which came back to Mylot, I have opened new account and the new email Id was given to Mylot and believe me within a week's time my earning were deposited in my new Paypal account and I was informed accordingly! I was really impressed with this kind gesture of this forum!
Then onwards when ever I get an opportunity to express about the genuinely and the helping nature of the forum , I always tried to quot this incidence, which is really a worth mentioning one to all the newbies coming on this forum!
Thus I think this case of mine is if not unique one but was bit different and I readily got help from this forum and I am deeply indebted to all the concern people for increasing my faith about this forum!
Thanks friend it was a great discussion of my interest and I enjoyed participating in it!

Wow AKRao24,
Very impressive for a site. Often times we read about so many unfair and harsh tendencies of a site, but to read your response I find it very professional and very impressive to say the least! I am glad you got that resolved in such a orderly fashion.
Gives me the even more encouragement to continue coming here daily as I have been, but after reading your response with more enthusiasm! Thanks for sharing this.

I have learned a lot since I am here, starting by having a better written English (not my native language). But I was referring to the ditect help mylot gives us through it´s moderator.

I have not had any issues worth to request assistance from admin but from what I have seen I find admin to be very active and helpful. This is a breath of fresh air marguicha as I read a discussion earlier of someone accusing myLot members as secret agents, who deleted discussions as apparently admin is asleep all the time and or away on vacation. I could not help but laugh as I know admin overly active as I have seen some participation at really odd times.
I have seen many of admins responses to a great many members and find that our current admin is by far the best from any other site that I participate in. As Miss Hatley always tells members it is worth try so I am glad you followed through and have your discussion reinstated.

Hi Dear Hardworkinggurl! I fully agree with you! When compared to the Admin on other sites we have an excellent Admin. here, with out any doubt. Any thing going against the rules is immediately tackled. Duplicate postings, spamming and impolite language on the forum is never seen at all. What all this indicate? It is clearly indicative of the fact that admin is vigilant round the clock, as this site is having members from all parts of the World so we get constant postings all around the clock on this forum!
I sincerely convey my thanks to the admin through this posting for maintaining the standards of this forum, for which this site is famous for! Thanks !

I liked that! Secret agents! While it is true that some people can be bothersome, administration here is to good so they can´t do much harm. See, friend, not even some of Lamb´s posts are deleted

Glad to hear that they were able to reread this discussion of yours and help you out like this, and add it back. I know that is a Good feeling for sure. I know with a couple of discussions in the past, I have had a challenge as well, and had someone even try to copy a discussion of mine word for word, and myLot removed mine and kept theirs til we asked them to check who's post was started first by time and then they fixed it. Not sure what happened from there, but it was worth it to know it was straightened out.

I have had help with other kinds of problems. I have not ever appealed a deleted post. I do know of others who have, though. It is a good thing to speak up and understand what has been done, and who is in error.

THis is the second time they have helped me. The first time I was helping a member who answered one of my posts. The site deleted the answer for the copy paste reason from another place. It did not look like that to me and I tried to help but the moderator showed me that this member had a MO in plagiarism.

I´m SO sorry. I had a completly different experience. First Alex sent me a PM telling me that he´sd check it. He wasn´t promising anything, but it was a response. He also said the same thing as an answer to a post I made. Then, some hours later, my discussion was back again with another PM.

hi alex is really great. I had a comment deleted because it was on a response to my own discussion and they typed in my comment which was not mine, so I private messaged alex and he wrote back. He gave me back my comment and suggested I use it on one of my responses on a different
discussion which I did. he seems very fair to me

I´m sorry I didn´t comment sooner your answer, but I was away for some time. I think Alex is very helpful and so are some mylotters who take pain in teaching newbies how to start.

It sounded like Alex came through for you and that is great. It’s a relief to know that admin at MyLot is willing to listen and attend to unique problems if they need to. I haven’t had anything like that happen to me but knowing that admin are approachable is a great thing.

Even though I´ve been here so long as to doubt that mylot is legit, if the site has a wonderful administration it is an added bonus.

I have not had some problems which I must ask Mylot to solve. But I like what you did. When we have some problems with anyone, we should say to them to solve them. We shouldn't keep them in our heart. The problems in heart maybe broke the good relationship.

Never have a chance to even do it. None of my own discussions was ever deleted, only responses/comments in other people discussions. I think I may do something like you did, just ask it to review if the post isn't really against any rule.
By the way, a stupid question completely unrelated to your discussion, how do you do to reach the admins/moderators?

No question is stupid, RamRes. Check at the rules and guidelines of the site. But many times the moderator comes to you as it happened in my case.

Congratulations, marguicha! I'll more than bet, that because you handled your appeal with respect, they were more than willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and visit your discussion! Diplomacy and tact, on your part, win out!
I am sorry for the one negative comment you got here! No, I have not appealed!
The particular day you posted that discussion, I could NOT respond...I don't know how many responses I made that day....and they all went to a blank page...so HIP, HIP, HOORAY, now I can re-visit that discussion and respond!
So glad this valuable post was retrieved. Cheers!

I was interested in this post because so many times we spend our "money to give away" in people who don´t need it so much and forget ther really needy. I remember, decades ago, when a friend of mine "adopted" a gorilla. I have nothing against that (poor gorillas!) but our own kind is hungry. Shouldn´t we start with them?
And yes, I am more respecful now that I´m old than what I used to be when I was young and immortal. And mylot´s moderator was very kind.

I didn't have a similar case like you, but I did try to reach the administrator once, and I didn't get my case appealed, instead, I was giving a warning while ago though. Maybe I didn't state my case strongly, and that is why I lost it. Congratulation on you though, at least you work your case right. Yeah, we should follow the rule.
