Life is a like a cycle. Sometimes you go up and live in comforts and sometimes, bad luck knocks you off leaving you in a well of debts and pains. The way we see the situation is, is the approach we usually do. Some people thinks life is miserable and they make themselves desperate, looking so pathetic. Some, in the other way around, look life as stepping stone towards a better future.
I had an experience when I was about a grader. My family and I got no home and we were just renting when the owner kicked us off and developed the area for a lodging. We have no money by that time since we were left by our father and decided to live with his mistress. My mother solely took care of us her 5 children and with no savings at hand she gambled everything to make us lived. She worked at the rural health center by day and a tutor by night. We lived in scanty of everything-money,attention and love from our parents, new clothes, shoes and toys. We never experienced going out of town, joining school field trips or simply eating in a fast food or play in a children's park.We are not allowed to go outside because our fellow kid always gag on us,bully us and called us "abandoned children". I am depressed by that time and resentful. I hate my life, i felt wrath over my fellows even questioning if there is God?Why he can't see our hardships to just get belong in the community and feel the sufferings from having nothing? Despite of that poor living, my mother struggled hard and taught us to be brave and see life in a different way. She told us to look at it in the best perspective in the positive way so we will not feel the heaviness, the burden we are suffering each day. She made us get closer to the Lord by going to church every Sunday and listen on radio about how Jesus redeemed us and made miracles.
At first, I disagreed with her but she scolded me in front of my siblings just to tell them that I was an "ingrata" for planting hatred on God and made my life miserable. I was this feeling of disgust everytime we went to church coz i knew going there is non-sense but as months passed and with the words of my mom i am enlightened. And maybe that's the miracle she's telling us that no matter how bad life seems to be, listening by heart and an open mind will make it look good and easy. We graduated with flying colors. Thanks to our mom's guidance and God's word we surpass the "tide". Now, we her 5 children are successful on our chosen career and having our own family life..We may not experience a comfortable living on our younger years we are now enjoying life to the fullest. My mom is a almost on her retirement for a year from now(she prefers to work still because she's afraid she will get sick of just sitting all day, watching movies or just roaming to any place she wanted to go.)
This is the lesson I got from my mom and I'm making it a guideline for a better outlook in life. Life is too short if we goes on the flow where a flood of burden with rocks of problem are taking us miserably casting us out in the happy cycle. Life is easy as we give our full energy on its down cycle but pushing it up lifting the bad lucks into fortune of love perseverance and success in the end. Always put God in your center and everything eccentric will turn into a perfect circle.
Make the most out of it.Enjoy life as you are given the chance to. Afraid that you will miss one good day in your existence and regret everything after. Happiness is everywhere just look around start a smile and everything comes lightly and delightful!

Wow!! Sorry to hear about your situation. I know personally my childhood for some parts was nothing to reminish and rejoice about either, and there are many memories I would Love to continually forget. But personally I think you were being watched over by a loving god, and he is the reason you are where you are today. Even if you look back and know things should have been better, with god anything is possible, and you just need to always remember to Pray, Trust and believe and know in time something better will truly be on it's way.

In life that is all we can do. We all will be faced with many situations both good and bad, and it is truly up to us to learn to make the most out of any situation until something better comes along. It will not always be easy, but it will be worth the wait, and saying a little Prayer and trusting in god along with way will never hurt as well.

It was a tough challenge you and your siblings went through in early part of life. Your mom is a strong woman. She is the architect of circumstances. When she was being battered by the storms of life she did not give up but hang on to the gift called 'faith' which has given her the strength to bring up her children single handedly. I believe God will help those who help themselves.
