Frozen Cookies

My girls and I made our last Girl Scout cookie delivery last night. My oldest was curious why the neighbor put the thin mints in her freezer. I told her sometimes cookies taste better to people frozen. Also people who buy too many boxes of cookies and want them to stay fresh longer do this as well. I myself like putting generic Oreo cookies in the freezer simply because sometimes I like them cold and the other reason is I can hide them in the freezer as a treat for ME otherwise the kids would inhale them and they'd be gone in less than a day. I can usually make a pkg last a week or longer hidden in back as I sometimes tend to forget about having them.... you know out of sight out of mind ;0)

Hi 3SnuggleBunnies, Its the best why to keep them fresh if you don't eat them all the time. Before I had kids they would last in my house for a very long time. Same with coffee. You can keep it in the freezer to, to keep it fresh.

Everything lasts longer before you have kids! OMG! I buy my groceries based on whats on sale and if I can buy enough of it to make it last more than a day or two if that.

Hi. 3SnuggleBunnies. I have never ate cookies frozen before. This is a great way to keep them cool and fresh. If I freeze my cookies, I have to make sure that I thaw them out before I have a craving of eating them. I would like to have them ready when I bite into them.

Part of the point is not just to keep them fresh but as a nice treat by actually eating them frozen.

I can't afford Girl Scout cookies anymore, but do buy similar ones at the store and I do put them in the freezer. They are so good! They are thin so easy to take a bite without hurting teeth and that minty chocolate taste is just the best!

I understand totally. I'm a bad GS momma I only bought one box because they are $3.75/BOX here and thought I do love the caramel delights I wasn't sure on how much money we'd have when the order came in.

My hubby puts thin mints in the freezer.. likes them better that way I guess. I've always had a sensativity to cold, so never put anything in the freezer. Perhaps in the summer time I might try though now that I no longer have to worry about my sensativity.

I think summer would be a good time to give it a whirl. I know I sometimes get sensitivity in my teeth from things usually if it's too sweet or like you too cold... thankfully I've outgrown it for the most part.

lol, I can hide them but the darn memory can always find them right away. Something about chocolate anything tastes better frozen then it would fresh to me. Although I am not much of a chocolate muncher but if I freeze it, it sort of always feels like ice cream to me.

I find it very important to hide things from myself in the freezer. I then almost always forget it for a while. I do not have a problem with other family members, only with myself.

I know I hid a carton of ice cream because it is one of the few things that curbs my heartburn and that was in there for a couple of months atleast. If the kids knew about it, it would of been gone in less than 2 days.

WOW! I don't think I could handle 3 cookies a day! But if life gets busy then I won't have to worry about that boredom eating = extra lbs here in winter.

I know lots of people who put thin mints in the freezer. I should have done that with the Girl Scout cookies I bought this year. My kids inhaled all but 2 boxes of the ones I got this year. Crazy! My son ate an entire box of Caramel Delights the other day for BREAKFAST.

When it comes to chocolate...out of sight of of mind does not work for me. I have been known to sit in front of my laptop and eat chocolate chip cookies before.
Some people put things in the freezer to keep them from eating them...in case they are on a diet.

We have delivered ours to those whom have ordered. I haven't put a candybar in the freezer, but I suppose that would depend on what one. I don't think I'd like anything w/ caramel frozen.

Perhaps you should try as putting them in the freezer may make them last longer as it takes more effort to chew them in most cases. I usually don't buy many because they get eaten up super fast.

A lot of people put things in freezer. Especially older people who eat a little at a time.
