If you could only one, Who would you chose?

Several months ago, my daughter saw a movie about a family during an earthquake in China. I don't know if it is base on a true story or not but it got me thinking..
A mother had to chose which one of her two children to be rescued (live) while the other will be crushed by the building beam. she had to choose one or both dies. I want to discuss this because I want to know people could be so judgmental at times and to be honest I was too, when my daughter told me about it. I said how could she chose one child over the other? But I got to thinking and although I would never want that anyone to ever ever have to be in that situation, I'm curious as to what most people who do if they had to face something like that. I know I can't do it...and wouldn't know what to do... so I ask you???

omg this is a tough question. Even though i'm not married and have no children right now, it breaks my heart thinking an answer to this question. I think i wouldn't choose anyone of them two and die myself with my kids coz if i had choosen just one of them, i would be living every second of my life with regrets and would hate myself forever.
But i'm curious to know whom of the two, did the woman choose in the movie?? and the reason??

I know huh..I probably die myself...before choosing one.. The mother in the movie chose the son. I guess in their culture boys are more valued than girls...sad right? but that's the way they were taught to think. That is what I got out of the story.. and you know what?? the girl didn't die. you have to watch the movie. I haven't yet, but just the way my daughter told me the story, I teared up just thinking about it..

the movie name called Aftershocks,under the circumstance that aid workers could only save a life either the son or the daughter,the mother sadly chose to save her son,the daughter was very hopeless,however,she survived by a miracle.
the end is well,after 32years they reunited,daughter's experience let her forgive her mother,in fact,the mother had pri cks of conscience reaching 32years!
the movie let me weep,as a mother,children are her flesh and blood,lose of anyone of them will be unacceptable.if the mother in the film is me, how to make a choice? i don't dare to think...
wish we have a peaceful life.
